Tried a bunch of stuff as it was the highest rated and we often seek out boulangerie and patisserie’s. The best item we tried was the baguette, but it was just good for US standards and not great; whilst overpriced like everything else in this area so just expect prices that are in line with SF and exceed most around Manhattan/Brooklyn.
Croissants that day: far too dense and tastes like Costco’s, not to be rude this is just the best comparison.
Apple pastry was very very syrupy tasting, like artificial flavoring or something I’m not sure what it was precisely but it was way over the top.
Scone was solid, properly soft and moist inside and ingredients tasted high quality.
Sourdough was solid, they have a good culture going for sure and probably the only thing I felt was equal value for cost of everything I tried.
Service was rushed and unfriendly from the older lady there, not sure if she was training the boys or what but we were the only ones in the store when we ordered. It was late morning so I’m not sure the rush, maybe too big a cup of joe that day? But it felt unpleasant with it being our first time and coming to try things / spending $40+. Especially if you’re gonna ask for a tip at the end for handing over goods.

Stopped in to Crooked Tree just to see what they were about. Ordered the Parmesan Pepper roll, took a bite in the parking lot, went right back in to order the big daddy full-sized one. Wow! Awesome place. Friendly guy at the counter offered samples (the Poblano Cheese Sourdough was great!). Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie was delicious. Will definitely be back!

Well we tried the 3 o’clock baguette, the cheddar scallion scone, the white chocolate cherry scone, blueberry muffin, black and white cookie and the parmesan pepper rolls. The scones were literally the best we have ever had, way better than Zingerman’s. The baguette was also highly regarded by our entire crew. Can not wait to try the rest tomorrow!!! We are going back in the morning!!!

As someone who considers high-quality bread a love language I was very excited to visit this bakery. Unfortunately, our family’s excitement was quickly overshadowed by the surprisingly rude behavior of the woman who took our order and checked us out. The store wasn’t busy, so there was no clear reason for such an unwelcoming interaction. It left us feeling uncomfortable and, honestly, I ended up purchasing fewer items than I originally planned because of it. Disappointing experience…we won’t be back.

This was a great find on our way through. So many different things to get. Aside from bread, they also had scones, cookies and rolls. As other people have suggested, I ordered the jalapeno cheddar scones and the pepper parmesan rolls. Both were awesome and I’m excited to go back.

Every summer, our go-to bakery is Crooked Tree for their Pepper Parmesan and Sourdough cherry/walnut bread, scones and molasses cookies. Not cheap, but worth it. We are headed there now!
