Inside, the croissant is soft, airy, and nicely layered, exactly what you want when you tear it open. Beautiful butter taste and smell but it could be more buttery!
The latte was excellent too, very fragrant, well balanced, with smooth milk microfoam and genuinely beautiful latte art.
I also tried the baguette and found it a bit too moist and dense for my preference. The cream cheese and fig baguette looked promising, but the cream cheese itself was almost flavorless and didn’t really add much to the bite.
This place gets extremely busy, so coming early is a smart move. One of the highlights was chatting with J, the baker, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer my very specific questions. That kind of passion and openness always elevates the experience.
From the moment you walk into Croissante, the warm buttery aroma and elegant pastry displays instantly tell you you’re in for something special. This place feels like a Parisian patisserie reborn in California — stylish, modern, yet cozy.
The display case is absolutely breathtaking — row after row of immaculate cakes and viennoiseries that look like works of art. The Yuzu Lemon Cheesecake caught my eye right away: a glossy, perfectly round little cake topped with candied citrus, creamy yet refreshing with a beautiful balance between tart and sweet. The Coffee Chocolate Mousse layered cake is rich, silky, and indulgent — every bite melts in your mouth.
On the savory side, their Mushroom Danish and Spinach & Artichoke Danish are showstoppers. Flaky, buttery pastry with golden edges, filled with generous savory fillings that taste straight out of a fine bistro. The Pepper Sausage Danish is another must-try — slightly spicy, aromatic, and wrapped in perfectly laminated dough.
If you love bread, don’t miss the Olive Ciabatta and Pesto Gruyère Bun — hearty, flavorful, and baked to crusty perfection. The Pesto Mushroom Focaccia was one of my personal favorites: thick, pillowy, loaded with earthy mushrooms and just the right amount of pesto and cheese.
Of course, it wouldn’t be “Croissante” without a fantastic Almond Croissant — beautifully golden, filled with fragrant almond cream, and sprinkled with sliced almonds. Probably one of the best versions I’ve had in the Bay Area!
Parking was good even though they were pretty busy. We got there around 7:45ish and the line was a bit out the door.
NOTE: if you have a hard time walking or getting around easily, maybe avoid the busy times. The lines and seating areas are pretty tight. Not easy to maneuver around even for abled bodied people.
The croissants weren’t super flaky, more soft than other places were went to. Regardless, still very delicious!
My favorite was the spinach and artichoke danish, Strawberry blossom, and Croissant Plate!
Definitely will be back!
Mango crossiant is very unique and tastes good – not too sweet and mango is soft with light cream.
Matcha crossiant is made with matcha-flavored flour and not sweet. No filling inside, which Is what we like.
Mushroom danish tastes great and savory.
French toast cube crossiant is unique but probably the least attractive among the ones we tried – It’s quite sweet compared to other ones, but can match well with the matcha latte.
For drinks: Matcha latte has very strong matcha flavor and can be bitter toward the end, which Could be nice for people who like the style. Cafe latte is also very good.
The vibe is fine, though loud. There are usually seats available after getting the bakery.
Would Love to go again and try more items!
Just a small note: I wish they had a separate area for private events. A tea party was happening during our visit and it occupied most of the tables, with the program taking place right where everyone else was dining.
The signature coffee selection is interesting, it was great to see an einspanner latte, it was just too strong for my taste. People who love strong coffee will like it.
We tried the Almond Kun aman; its croissant but a little hard.. kind of a cookie/croissant hybrid. It was nice.
We even tried a cheese tomato croissant, you wont see the cheese but thats because its melted and melded with the croissant itself.
The mango croissant has rave reviews, but i found the mangoes too syrupy and sour. I will try the strawberry one next time because the cream and croissant was solid.
Giving this place a 4.5 ⭐️ only because i didnt like the mango croissant and the strong einspanner (definitely doesnt disqualify it, but there are nicer ones out there that this one has competition with that are better)
It’s very busy inside, though. On a busy Sunday morning it took about 10 minutes with the line going outside the door. You can find a place to sit but it will be loud. The music was also very loud, so I don’t think this is a good environment for doing work even on a weekday.
On our first visit, we ordered the pain chocolate and triple chocolate with double espresso and Americano. While the pastries were fresh, the chocolate filling was not generous.
On our second visit, we went for breakfast and ordered two plain croissants, two ham and cheese croissants, a double espresso, and an Americano – we had to ask for a new espresso because they served us a cold one. Take away Cube French Croissant Toast and Matcha Chocolat. Again, we enjoy the freshness of the pastries. However, we were pretty surprised by how sweet the ham and cheese were. The croissant seemed to have sweetness that we didn’t expect from a savory pastry. Unfortunately, this was not much to our liking. As for the French toast, it was good, heavy but good. The Matcha chocolate, while the freshness of the pastry was there, lacked the flavour or kick from the Matcha.
On our third visit, we went again for breakfast, and this time, we ordered a farmer’s focaccia, pain chocolat, omelet, and bacon croissant set breakfast, along with double espresso and Americano. We enjoyed the farmer’s focaccia. We didn’t enjoy the croissant omelet and bacon much. We thought the omelet and bacon flavoring was overpowering; we couldn’t taste much of the croissant. I decided to eat everything separately.
And the fourth, for afternoon snacks, we ordered 1x plain croissant, white chocolate Matcha scone, pain au chocolat, double espresso, and Americano. Again, they served the espresso warm, not hot. Perhaps they have it ready on the side and can fill it into a cup according to the order. New one this time was the scone, I think from the two Matcha flavour pastries that I’ve ordered – they don’t have much kick or strong flavour of the Matcha itself, nothing much, if not zero, not unless you do kind of look for the taste itself while chewing pastries. However, I enjoyed the Matcha Scone instead of the Matcha Chocolat.
Why three stars? Apart from the way they serve the double espresso, other pastries that not much of our liking. We believe the cashier and the staff handling the orders can be improved. They have so many staff around, but somehow, they’re not operating efficiently and effectively. Everyone is busy doing something else, while they can attend to people’s orders instead. They only have one cashier, who tends to be the most reason for the long line apart from handling the orders.
And the ambience of the place itself—it doesn’t feel very inviting for dining. It’s always noisy, whether less crowded or crowded, and not very neat-looking/feeling when you enter or dine in.
