I have to give it the full five stars, the atmosphere and service are really great. The store baked bread is very good- the Italian Panini had room for improvement, tho I ordered it dairy free for just a taste. I think it’s probably more tasty for those who can enjoy it in its own normal preparation. The steak tips were tasty, the toast points were fabulous. They were served with what I believe is a gravy/au jus- a bit salty but in moderation it was fine. The salad was fresh, vinaigrette was just OK., hubby loved the clam chowder. My small pizza was more than enough for 2 but I’m dairy free so my hubby got his own. All the toppings were fresh and I was perfectly full when we left with half our food leftover. The fresh toppings and the pizza sauce are absolutely fantastic. I love the thin crust with the stove burned edges. It all tastes pretty authentic and it’s good dining with a fast food/deli feel. I look forward to going back and trying their minestrone and maybe a loaf of their bread. It was great!

I have been to many Crispelli‘s locations but this is definitely the closest and the service and food quality are always consistent! The charming, clean atmosphere of a local pizza joint, mixed with the aromatic sensation of the bustling wood fire oven when you first walk in is what brings me back for their phenomenal margherita pizza!
They recently switched to full sit-down service, so you no longer place your order at the counter; the wait staff takes care of you at the tables unless you’re ordering a carry-out. My only critique was about the wine glasses. We both ordered a glass of red wine to complement the dine-in experience but the glasses, which were plastic, seemed small to hold a 6-8oz pour and the really short stem made them awkward to hold as well. I think they need to be upgraded for me to spend $10 on a glass of wine again.
Oh, and do not even think about leaving without at least 2 of their famous chocolate chip cookies to-go… heat in the microwave for about 10 seconds and thank me later. YUM!!

First time dining in, but have carried out many times! Pizza is always a good idea with lots of options on their exceptional crust. The cheese bread is outstanding. Love the crispelli salad. Hidden gem is the smash burger!!! It’s so good.

Food was good… very very very STINGY with the toppings, cheese and sauce. It was good food, I would even have it at my wedding HOWEVER I would have to insist that there was more sauce on the pizza, more cheese on the pizza and the toppings you pay extra for are on the pizza… I feel like they owe me 3 free FULL toppings on my next order. I wouldn’t even ask for my money back because you cant say that it wasn’t good. It was good. We just like our pizza to look and taste like a pizza, we want the sauce and the cheese to make a full appearance, not a guest star role… SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT CHESSE AND SAUCE!!! We know how to ask for lite sauce here in michigan, we just dont.

Oh, to the owners and managers lets gets some more seasoned work staff. I got shoes older then those kids working in there, they were friendly and nice however, it was some little child like attitude stuff going on that I saw. Promise you it was because no one older was around in that moment to set a better example to them in that moment. But everyone was busy and moving around doing stuff.

We’ve loved having Crispelli’s nearby. We prefer dining in over takeout because we just love eating the pizza fresh out of the oven. The pizzas are great, their salads are delicious and easy to share. Also they sit out of the typical metro-detroit typical salads that i am so tired of (maurice, michigan cherry, caesar). And their salads are fairly large to share. Their bread is great, you can take a loaf home too. But we’ve gone to other brick oven pizzarias in GP, where they’ve repeatedly burned the crust beyond comsumption. We’ve been able to get a table pretty reliably. The atmosphere and interior is modern, and clean. Feels more fast casual concept, than cozy italian trattoria, and that’s fine because the food is good. Wine and beer selection is fine, nothing that will blow your mind, but a perfectly acceptable selection that generally pairs well. Service and staff are always great, never a problem with attributed. Everyone is friendly. I mean, it’s part of a chain, but I’d so much rather have this than eat deep dish all the time. And while it is part of a chain and a large pizza history of detroit, it still plays like a thoughtful indie.
Note: Regarding pickup orders. i don’t think they have an advanced pizza warming enclosure for takeout orders, so they can cool off, but not a big deal for me. my wife lots hot pizza at home, so we turn the oven on with a pizza stone at home to reheat at home.

Ordered a white pie and it was the worst white pie I’ve ever had for $25! It was so dry and 4 little pieces of artichoke. I’ve had better pizza from a fast food pizza joint.
