My daughter and I drove from Melissa to get an order to go. Service was awesome and the young man that took our order was very helpful in describing the menu items before we ordered. I had been following Chris and John on FB and I told them that I would be stopping by on 3/04 and we did. We ordered enough for 2 days. Because we don’t know how long it would be before we made the drive to Dallas again it’s pretty far from Melissa but definitely worth the drive and the portions are FULL portions not just a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

We tried the Angry Pho Birria platter for two and everything was honestly so good. The platter came with birria baos, birria tacos, wings (we got the sweet chilli), and a spicy short rib pho…all packed with flavor and cooked perfectly tender.

There was a line out the door to order when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. This is definitely a casual pop-in spot: you order, get seated, food comes out fast, you eat, and you’re on your way. No fuss, just good food.

Every item was seasoned really well, the birria was rich and flavorful, and the pho had a great spicy depth. Portions were generous and perfect for sharing.

Simple setup, great execution. We’ll definitely be back!

I came for the Pho but after seeing everything they have to offer, I could hardly decide. They have some amazing combination plates but I opted for the beef ramen and im so glad I did! Deep flavors, tender beef, fresh garnishment and insanely delicious broth. I asked for hosin and sirracha sauce but didnt need either it was absolutely perfect.
Even though I opted for the patio seating the interior was spacious and clean. No line at 1pm, friendly staff and my meal was delivered quickly. I LOVE the Mexican spin on old favorites. I would love to have one close to me downtown Dallas, but i will be coming back to sample a bunch of other items and will update the review soon. Shoutout to the staff who were super pleasant, checked on the patio patrons 4 different times. Incredible service, well worth the price AND the drive no matter where you are coming from. Do yourself a “flavor” and eat here, you won’t be disappointed.

My friend and I have actually tried Cris & John before at their previous location and I thought they were packed out before!! I met up again with my friend for another time, this time at the new location. CONGRATULATIONS to this establishment on the new location, praying for 20 more like these!

I ordered the seasonal heart shaped tray that had the angry birria consome, 4 birria tacos with cilantro and onions and a lime, I decided to be extra and get the spicy chili wings with a side of ranch and their horchata drink.

Everything was a 12/10! I really did enjoy my second time here at Cris & John and even with the distance, I shall return! Love the new layout and design of the building and next time, will take photos with the balloons and all. Thanks to the team that took our order, kept checking if we needed anything and made sure that everything was fine for us from top to finish!

Management is doing an AMAZING job! Keep it up <3

The flavors are so on point. This place perfected FUSION, we had an amazing experience and the good was fantastic! The Ube horchata was PERFECT and the flavor was beyond words. 100/100. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we asked questions. Overall there aren’t enough words to express how great everything was. We’re definitely coming back ✨

We’re visiting from Nebraska and saw Cris and John all over my FYP TikTok, so I had to give this place a try. It was truly the best of both worlds! We ordered the Angry Pho birria platter, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold, fresh, and so unique. My whole family loved it! We also ordered the ube horchata, peach tea, jamaica, and another drink, and they were all so good and refreshing! It did not disappoint. We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Texas!

This was my first time at Chris and John’s new location. There was a line already forming and tables were full around 12:40pm. So get there early!! My Mom and I shared the “Angry Pho and Birria” platter. We also tried their drinks: coconut water(not pictured), matcha horchata and a Lychee peach tea.

We were told everything we ordered was spicy, and we were excited because we like spice. Honestly, it wasn’t really spicy at all which was a let down. But everything was DELICIOUS! It was my first time having pho and I would definitely order it again. The birria tacos and bao buns were unique and cooked perfectly! The wings were cooked well and the bang bang sauce was good. While the drinks were all good, our favorite was the lychee peach tea. The drinks were cafe quality and would definitely get again.

All of the staff were kind. Thankfully a table opened up for us to sit at by the time we ordered our food. The music was great and our food came out quickly. I know they just moved, but they definitely need more space. By the time we left the line was already out the door and into the parking lot. We’ll probably order to go from now on. Wishing them continued success!!

This spot was recommended to me multiple times and now I know why. If you are looking for something new and fun to try then you found the right place. The viet-mex fusion menu will have something for everyone and you can guarantee it will be like nothing you have tried before, so tasty and good portion sizes. We arrived at opening and yes there was a line forming so it can get busy at times but so worth it.

The wait was two hours! You need to know what you want before reaching the register because once you’re seated, if you decide to order another drink or item, you’ll have to get back in line.

I watched a party of two get seated at a four-person table while a two-person table sat empty and just needed to be cleaned. The line stretched all the way to the business next door, yet there were several empty tables waiting to be wiped down. There was only one person cleaning, which really slowed the flow of seating.

When we asked our waitress for ketchup and more napkins, it took quite a while. One staff member mentioned that service was delayed because people were going on lunch breaks. For how busy it gets, they really need better coverage. Having one or two floaters—one for the kitchen and another for the dining area—would make a big difference on days like this.

This restaurant would benefit from a reservation system or table service setup.

I’d visit again, but probably not until next year when the TikTok rush dies down or they improve their system.

The staff was friendly, but they ask for tips at the register after a two-hour wait, and since the servers only deliver food with no added service, I don’t think tipping is necessary.

The food was good and served hot, which helped make up for the long wait.

Flavor chaos in the BEST way possible
If Vietnamese and Mexican food had a wildly talented, slightly unhinged (in a good way) foodie baby… this would be it.
Cris & John is one of those places where you look at the menu and immediately go, “Wait… you can DO that??” — tacos, birria, wings, pho, loaded fries, fusion everything — and somehow it all works.
We ordered one of the big trays and it was STACKED.
Birria tacos? Juicy and cheesy and messy in the best way.
Wings? Sticky, saucy, and addictive.
Loaded fries with the sunny-side egg? Absolutely feral behavior (compliment).
And that dipping consommé/sauce situation?? I wanted to drink it.
Portions are huge, flavors are bold, and everything tastes like it was made with zero fear.
The vibe inside is just as fun — bright yellow walls, neon signs, colorful chairs, chill energy, and super friendly staff. It feels casual and cozy but still special enough for a date night or celebration.
Honestly this is the kind of place where you bring friends, order way too much food, and share everything.
Come hungry. Leave obsessed.
