Service was great! The steak was cooked to the right temperature base on customers’ preference. Some dish is better than others. Overall a great place but expect to pay over $50 and $100 if on a date.

We had an excellent dinner with great service! The food is always good! We had the shrimp cocktail, the kabob, chicken friend steak, prime rib, good sides and big beers. Our friend Ever takes the best care of us every time we come in! Love this place that is close to the lake.

I’ve eaten at Cripple Creek several times now, and it’s consistently wonderful. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I especially appreciate how clean and well-kept everything is, even during busy hours. It’s the kind of place you can enjoy with friends, family, or even just for a quiet meal alone. Definitely one of the better spots in town.

The place is nice inside its suitable for a nice date night, however things have changed so much since the last time I was here. I came in with my husband and my daughter and the service was not good. The food was the worst part though. I ordered my steak medium and it was super burned, we had the Rockefeller oysters and they were extremely raw on the inside, we asked for them to be fixed and all they did was burn the cheese on the top. The steak was not good at all and super burned definitely not cooked medium. The only good thing was the margaritas. We were the first ones here as they opened, and it wasn’t busy at this time, we thought we would get great service or at least someone fix our food items and nope no one did a thing. The greeter/host didnt even bother to welcome us or acknowledge us as we came in. The quality of the restaurant service along with the food had gone down hill. We will not be coming back, as we are very disappointed.

If you’re looking for a charming spot for date night in Del Rio, look no further than Cripple Creek Steakhouse. This cozy place offers an inviting ambiance perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxed dinner with friends. From the moment we walked in, the warm, rustic decor and soft lighting set the stage for a delightful experience.

The menu boasts a variety of comforting and satisfying options. The sweet potato an absolute standout – hands down the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The steak, while tasty, was, unfortunately, a bit overcooked. We requested medium-well but received it more on the well-done side. That said, it was still enjoyable. The salad was fresh, crisp, and beautifully plated, adding a nice balance to our meal. And let’s talk about the rolls, oh those rolls—better than Texas Roadhouse, which is saying a lot!

For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying a slice of their homemade carrot cake. The frosting was unique, with a light and creamy mix that seemed to combine cream cheese and whipped cream. The cake itself had great flavor but wasn’t as moist as I prefer.

Cripple Creek has a wonderful outdoor seating area, complete with heaters for chilly evenings and even an outdoor bar that adds to the relaxed vibe. Parking is plentiful, making it easy to stop in without hassle. The only downside to the ambiance was the loud noise from what we think was a blender – it echoed through the quiet space early in the evening, briefly disturbing the romantic mood.

The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring our needs were met without being intrusive. It’s clear they take pride in making guests feel welcome and comfortable.

My final thoughts, despite a few minor hiccups, Cripple Creek Steakhouse is truly a hidden treasure in Del Rio, TX. Whether you’re in town for a visit or a local looking for a cozy spot with great food and warm hospitality, this place is worth a stop. Don’t miss out on the sweet potato and those incredible rolls!

Would we go back? Absolutely!

My husband and I are visiting Del Rio to celebrate a friend’s work promotion. We were told by the hotel staff that Cripple Creek Steakhouse was quite popular. So we decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is full of ol’ country charm with interesting decor and log cabin walls. The food is definitely top-notch in taste, quantity and presentation. It’s certainly worth putting on the “will-visit-again” list. However, our server, a young man determined to make it obvious that my husband and myself were not someone he preferred to serve. On initial meeting, he did not give the customary greeting or even introduce himself. Instead he muttered out, “What do you want to drink?” He spoke very little when assisting us; sometimes not at all. Twice he came to our table never speaking a word, more like passing by as he placed a glass of water on the table and when he whizzed by to grab up our debit card. He had a habit of looking around and away when we’d have questions. I decided to ignore his obvious non-verbals and try to enjoy my delicious meal. But I couldn’t help but notice his pleasant demeanor as he served the other 2 tables of patrons near us. One or two mishaps, can be chalked up to possible missteps. Put them all together, this young man clearly had issue with us. Needless to say Cripple Creek Steakhouse is on the “never-visit-again” list.

There is a long wait for a table, especially if you have a group larger than 4 so that is something to be prepared for. But it is most definitely worth the wait. The Sportsmans Platter was amazing and will definitely be returning. Very good food even if it is a little more expensive.

Solo business trip, sat the bar. I met a nice local and the bar tender was very friendly as well. Bartender suggested the tuna appetizer so ordered that along with the grilled shrimp dinner.
Let me say, the tuna was AMAZING! Omg, it was so good that I ate it all. My shrimp was over done but ok, broccoli that they have is very yummy, whatever they season it with, they got it down. Overall, I’m happy with my visit and would definitely come back for their tuna!

Poor service during my last visit. I was never offered or asked if i wanted a drink when I sat down with my party and ordered. I was able to get a glass of water when food was served, but our waitress never returned to ask about refills for my table, and only returned when we had to chase her down so we could pay to leave. I enjoyed a juicy medium rare sirloin steak with pretty good fried mushrooms, a very fresh salad, and the sweet potato fries seemed pretty decent, but I don’t care much for them. Not sure if I’ll go back after sitting down with friends for a couple hundred dollar table, and not even being offered drinks or refills, that ruined our entire experience.
