I’ve been to Crimson a few times now, mainly because it’s conveniently located for downtown work lunches. The space is a standout. Beautifully designed, comfortable, and spacious enough for anything from solo dining to large groups, with a full bar and plenty of seating options.

The menus is Pan-American, Latin-inspired concept that doesn’t always fully land. The flavors and execution show effort and intent, but some dishes feel just a bit shy of clicking.

Service, however, has been inconsistent on multiple visits. Long gaps between check-ins, limited menu knowledge, and overall attentiveness have been ongoing issues. I’ve given it time knowing they’re still new, but improvement has been slow.

That said, I genuinely want Crimson to succeed and understand how tough staffing can be in this industry. Don’t let this stop you from giving it a try, especially given the location, outdoor dining (in the summer) and potential still on the table.

I wanted to take my sweetheart out for our Valentines dinner. Was seated at 7:15 for our 630 reservation. Our waitress was a sweetheart. We ordered the brussels sprouts which were excellent. However, after that, things went downhill fast. Our entrées were cold in our salad was warm. Possibly the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever had in my life. The staff was apologetic, but it won’t make up for our ruined in evening.

It was painfully obvious that the restaurant was overbooked for the amount of staff available. Several people were waiting a long time for their tables and complaining out loud.We even had to wait for clean wine glasses so we could have our wine. Shame on management.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Crimson, located inside the stunning WildBirch Hotel in Anchorage.
From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how beautiful the space is—modern yet warm, with plenty of natural light pouring in through the large windows, giving the whole restaurant an open, airy feel. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and welcome.
Now, the food wow. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, but the salmon absolutely stole the show. Living in Alaska, I’ve had my fair share of salmon, and I can say without hesitation that this was the best salmon I’ve ever had. Perfectly seared, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Every dish was thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully plated.
The drinks were equally impressive creative, well-balanced, and expertly crafted.
And finally, the service was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff made sure we were taken care of from start to finish.
I will definitely go back again.

First time dining at the Crimson Restaurant, and overall it was an okay experience with some highlights and some disappointments.
We ordered a variety of dishes to get a good sense of the menu. The New York steak was ordered medium rare, but unfortunately came out on the drier side, which took away from the experience.
The ribeye steak was decent in flavor, but felt overpriced for what was served, especially considering the minimal sides included with the dish. For the price point, we were expecting a bit more in terms of portion or accompaniments.
The bison steak salad was okay overall, but felt like it could have benefited from more seasoning or finishing touches to really bring out its flavor.
The carnitas were also a bit dry. The menu mentioned they were either cooked in sauce or served with a pineapple habanero salsa, but ours lacked moisture and definitely felt like it could use that sauce or salsa to complement the dish.
On a more positive note, the social fries were very good, and the Crimson’s cheese spread was flavorful and enjoyable.
Our waiter was excellent—very attentive, friendly, and responsive to our needs. We chose not to send anything back or ask for adjustments because we wanted to experience the food as it was prepared, without modifications.
The drinks were just average, nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the pricing—especially for the steaks—felt a bit high relative to the quality and presentation.
In summary, the experience was decent but didn’t quite live up to expectations for the price. With some improvements to execution and value, it could be much better. For now, it was okay, but not a standout.

I can’t recommend Crimson enough! Our book club had our most recent meeting here in their event space, and it was a blast. They had a custom themed cocktail for us, and the service was out of this world. We were able to laugh, eat, drink and have a great time and they took excellent care of us. Can’t wait to visit again!

What a pleasant surprise. Excellent service, ambiance and great food. We had heavy appetizers and beverages prior to attending the Nutcracker. We also received a 15% discount because of our ballet tickets. My young nieces enjoyed it thoroughly. Nicole, our waitress treated them with such class. They really liked it. Highly recommend Crimson. Oh and the view!!! Will be back.

The staff at Wildbirch and the Crimson restaurant far exceeded our expectations! To make a previous stay right, they not only vastly improved our next stay. They made sure to go above and beyond our expectations. Upon our stay we were greeted by the front desk host who was very pleasant and responsive. Complimented our anniversary and made sure we had homemade cookies in our room, compliment of the chef at crimson. Although we weren’t able to stay and have breakfast in the morning, they again made sure we left with a gift card to return. Everything about our stay was excellent. I highly recommend Crimson and Wildbirch! Great job guys!

This establishment opened about a week ago within the Wildbirch Hotel. The owners did a beautiful job reimagining this place. We’ve had both dinner and breakfast here during our stay at the hotel, and both experiences have been fantastic. If you’re visiting Anchorage and looking for a nice sophisticated place to dine, check out Crimson!

Awesome food and helpful staff. Clean and friendly. The hummus appetizer was delicious and enough for three people to enjoy. I will be coming back just for this. Thank you.
