An Old New Orleans steakhouse rooted in tradition. We originated the New Orleans style of preparing steaks-sizzling in butter. Open since 1934.

Excellent place.

We went on sunday at 4 pm.

The place is nice, not so big but very comfortable. The people is very kind.

We ordered cesar ans house salads, rib-eyes, filet, sirloin, potatoes, mushroom, red wine, orange juice and coke.

Everything was delicious, there are parking.

I recommend here a lot

Night three of a New Orleans foodie vacation, we chose Crescent City Steaks. Saw reviews and social posts that it was a very good value.
We had high hopes based on others reviews, photos and menu. Following online advice, i booked online exactly 28 days in advance, requesting a private booth. Hostess was fairly adamant that “everyone” asks for this, hence we will be seated at a table. I ask to wait, she makes it uncomfortable for me to do so.. in the end, we sat at a table. Chairs have no padding, wood kitchen chair from the day they opened. Menu was absolutely filthy. I could tell this restaurant was certainly not going to win me on service, so I had higher hopes for the food. Salad was one lonely cherry tomato on a small bed of warm lettuce. The Dressing was good. 2/5. My last bite, I uncovered a small hair. Awesome! As far as mains, sizable portions, cooked perfectly. Steak was rather tough (T-Bone) and bland. Fries had good flavor but were oily and limp. Truthfully, it was an absolute disappointment. I wanted so badly to like anything about this place, I was the one who recommended it. Nonetheless, I have a cardinal rule. I never complain while I am eating, I never ask for nor accept a refund. I did let the very nice gentleman at the door know, when he asked, that it wasn’t our favorite experience. I was being very kind. Even with the menu prices being so reasonable, this steakhouse is outside of its weight class. There have to be far better options when in NOLA.

I have never had a filet cooked any better. Being from Pittsburgh, I like my filet cooked as rear as they I can get it (Pittsburgh rare). This was the only time that my filet was cooked Pittsburgh rare. The service was great very helpful and knew the menu. The atmosphere was great, not very loud. I would recommend the Crescent City Steak House. It was AWESOME. Definitely worth the visit.

If you are looking for a great steak place, this is it! Your steak comes out sizzling on a plate, and is just the the way you ordered it! The flavor is so good!! I will definitely eat here again ,if I’m in town.
The prices are very reasonable as well!

A local gem with old school charm and great steaks. You don’t stay in the restaurant business in New Orleans for 91 years serving subpar food. I had the 15 ounce prime fillet during my most recent visit last month.

I’ve visited twice and have had a good experience both times. The steaks are excellent and I highly recommend them. The sides can vary, but overall the quality is solid. The staff is friendly, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere makes it a nice spot to enjoy dinner. Prices are reasonable for the overall experience.

One thing to note: the private room isn’t very private if it’s located by the kitchen door. With staff constantly going in and out, it can feel a bit disruptive. Something to keep in mind if you’re planning a more intimate gathering.

I had probably the best filet mignon of my life there on Tuesday (2/10/26).
Absolutely delicious.
We went with a friend that dined there regularly.
Had the German potatoes, onion rings and peas.

Steaks were cooked perfectly. Seasoned so well.
Staff was very attentive and efficient.

I can easily see why they have been in business since 1934.
Saw the picture of Miss Leah Chase.
That says a lot. She came here for steak.
RIP Miss Leah.

Delicious filet mignon wrapped in bacon! I also got the asparagus salad and the potatoes au gratin. Pretty affordable for a steak house. Very classy, old school feeling. It was a little noisy, but nothing unreasonable. Our waiter Billy was very nice and attentive.

Stopped for dinner. Nawlins oldest Steakhouse. Food and service were good. My only complaint is they broil the steaks instead of on a grill.

Nice upper scale restaurant with real New Orleans charm. The steaks were great, cooked perfectly and the sides were very tasty. Service was wonderful, quick and attentive. Nice wine list and full bar if you want a drink. We stuck to water and soda but maybe next time I’ll have a drink and post an update (if I remember lol).
If you want a great place to eat and enjoy New Orleans charm (why wouldn’t you) this is a great candidate. I suggest a reservation but they do take walk ups as well. To top it off…FREE PARKING IN THEIR PARKING LOT.
