Stopped at a new place for supper tonight with a friend. Drove to Cresent, Iowa to a place that reminds one like that t.v. show Cheers to a certain degree. As a hometown bar & grill that services great food and has great service too.
We both enjoyed Cheeseburgers, (most places have frozen meat patties) mine tasted like real Midwestern meat. My friend had the breaded mushrooms, and i had the jalapeno poppers, and the prices are fair.
Come enjoy a bit of Hometown place, that you’ll be returning back for more.

Would not recommend. Should have known when I ordered a Philly and my wife ordered a French Dip, and they had to check to see if they had the meat sliced. It appeared we got some brisket crumb sandwiches.

My husband and I have driven by this place many times, but always a bit intimidated by the full parking lot. This past weekend, we noticed they were advertising for corn beef and cabbage dinners for St. Pats. We decided to give it a try and so glad we did. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere felt like a local hot spot but welcoming to newcomers. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to others!

They were the only place open in town. There was no food available at all. The bartender was the nicest. We ended up ordering a pizza from Casey’s and just ate it at the bar. You can’t go wrong with beer and pizza.

This review is strictly based on the food- all and all pleasantly surprised; stopped in on the way through and had a burger and bunch of wings. Wings were excellent, plenty of different flavors and a real good spice to them. Burger was a bit well-done but still juicy and great. Definitely will go back for some more wings.

Seriously good food. John the chef can cook. I’m telling ya go and check it out. We just drove by and figured we’d stop. The hamburgers and tacos were delicious and the hamburgers don’t even need sause like mayo or ketchup. So good!

Excellent food! You would not be able to tell driving past, but this local establishment has a fantastic kitchen. Many options to choose from. Small, “grandma’s basement” type atmosphere. Appears to have equal appeal as a local pub. Highly recommend.

We like to try different places and decided to give this a try tonight because I saw online tonight’s special was tacos. We walked in at 6:00 pm and the bar was busy, we went to the back dining room the waitress came and took our drink order came back and asked what we wanted. We wanted tacos of course because it was the special. She proceeded to tell us she was just informed there were no taco shells so she couldn’t offer the tacos….keep in mind it was only 6:00 and not one person at the bar was eating and we were the only ones in the dining area. Needless to say we ended leaving without ordering. If they don’t even offer the special I can only imagine what the rest of the food menu was like. The only good thing I can say is our server was very nice.

OMG, this is the BEST place to have a hamburger! Went there last night & the burger & fries were AWESOME! The cook does an amazing job & is super friendly. DEFINITELY will be back again! 🙂

It’s a Wednesday night. Why do you need to have the music so loud that the 12 people in here are screaming at each other to be heard??? Chick bar tending cannot multi task and lacks common sense. But the fries are to die for!!! Which is why they get a 4. All the food is great.
