I was thrilled to see gluten free bread, pasta, and pizza crust on the menu along with flourless chocolate cake. I had 4 meals here: 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. Everything was delicious! The omelette was so good that I had it both days. The ribs and the bourbon chicken hit the spot. We’ve eaten here many times when we’ve stayed in the cabins, and I foresee us eating here many more times in the future.

INCREDIBLE gluten free menu!!!!! The best gluten free pasta and bread I’ve ever had at a restaurant. They also have GF wraps / pizza crust.
Views from the deck can’t be beat. Thoughtful menu and extremely friendly staff. A short walk down to the Bluff before or after dinner. We will be back!

The BBQ nachos were amazing! Had the hamburger for one meal and it was great! You can taste the quality beef! Fry’s for my side were good quality french fries. Had the supreme pizza for dinner after canoeing for 8 hours. A little to expensive for the pizzas in my opinion. The crust isn’t made there. There was to much tomato sauce it was drowning in it. My dad had the meatloaf there and he said it was great! The employees were very nice but I get the impression they are worked to the bone. Overall a good experience. Anything on the menu is good just don’t get the pizza if your a big fan of quality pizza.

The salmon was our favorite dish, Mac and cheese was creamy and home made. Chicken wings were great. Unique meatloaf was tasty. Side salads were quality and nice portions. Kids menu prices were great. I was brave and tried the mushroom strudel which indeed had a strong mushroom flavor but I’ll never order that again. We wouldn’t particularly recommend the country fried chicken either. Lots of outdoor dining when the weather permits, the indoor dining room is a little tight and the atmosphere is just OK. Our server Alicia was friendly. The adult meal prices were a little high, but I’d probably go back for the ambiance of the OUTDOOR dining and a fancier date with my wife when the weather is pleasant. They have a separate indoor dining area for catering large groups with a limited menu.

I’m not sure where all of the negative reviews are coming from. The fact that there is a decent restaurant within a state park should already be a big positive, if for no other reason than to not needing to cook yourself in a nature area or drive a long distance to the closest restaurant. The food and cocktails were a mixed bag, ranging from decent to really good. It was raining when we were here, with an influx of people coming inside to stay dry. The waitress was alone for a big chunk of time, waiting for reinforcements to arrive. She did great taking care of all of us in the meantime. I think this place is good for what it is. It’s not gourmet, but still very solid.

Restaurant attached to the lodge. Nothing fancy. Indoor seating is pretty basic but the deck is nice if the weather permits.
Food is unfortunately just not very good. Appears to just be stuff they have premade that they just sort of heat up or slap together. Nachos were especially rough. Basically one step above what you get from a little league concession stand. It’s definitely a good place to go in a pinch or if you ran out of food before your trip ends.
Service was solid. I don’t know if they were understaffed or didn’t expect the crowd on a random Wednesday night in November, but they were working their butts off.
Try the Piney River Brewing beer selection.

We didn’t actually stay at the lodge, but we walked through a bit, and visited the camp store. The poor ladies at the store were super nice, but the registers kept messing up.
Even just the lobby area is amazing looking. There is a huge fire place, and an area to just hang out in. You can play games and read, while looking out over Sinking Creek.
There is a great area to swim right behind the lodge. Also back there is a big deck and a great fire circle, for relaxing after a day of floating and swimming.

Can’t believe this place has the ratings it does. Coming in from TX during winter. The food was great my husband and I had the meatloaf and the country fried chicken. Both were delicious. And five star service from our server, Owen!!!!

Lovely view of Echo Bluff from the dining room. Service was friendly and timely. Food was exceptional for the area. We enjoyed our stay at Timbuktu Campground and the restaurant.

Great spot! Beautiful surroundings and awesome service. The kitchen kindly offered to substitute a sauce on the vegetarian pasta. I didn’t realize that the sauce had meat in it (though it looked delicious!) and our server was really kind in swapping out the meal for me. Highly recommend this spot! We both loved our meals, enjoyed cold beers on the breezy and peaceful patio, and Elaine provided amazing service. Can’t recommend enough!
