I ordered the braised beef hand-pulled noodles and the fried catfish lunch special. Highly recommend the noodles; beef is cooked just right, and the soup is delicious, with a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and salty. It is a bit sweet-forward but I enjoyed it.
The catfish fillet were quite thin but quite good nonetheless. I would probably recommend making tartar sauce in-house rather than supplying packaged sauce.
They recently opened a section specifically for Chinese hand-pulled noodles. We ordered beef noodle, pork noodle, and beef roll (牛肉卷饼in Chinese). Absolutely authentic. The price is very competitive (only 10 bucks for the noodle).
The staff in the restaurant are super joyful. As the noodle section is newly open, they give us a free Lanzhou noodle sample to bring home to taste and do not charge us for soda. I mean it is one of the very few places I feel my tips are completely worthy.
I honestly do not find anything negative about this restaurant (based on my two visits). I will definitely recommend it to my friends and pay visit frequently.
Atmosphere/Appearance: It’s a Wednesday at 5:53pm and I ordered over the phone to pick up. The restaurant is right on Washtenaw with a lot of presence and is where the old Big Boy used to be. There’s a private parking lot which is always a plus. This place is BIG with an open-concept and lots of “sea scenery” and sea fare. It’s very well-decorated. There was no one inside though, but maybe it was early in the evening and the rush hadn’t shown up yet.
Service: The 2 guys at the counter took excellent care of me. They were kind, quick and made sure that I had everything that I ordered in the bag.
Food: Now to the good stuff! So we had A LOT of food so I’ll go over everything I had the chance to try. First, Dad had the catfish basket which comes with 4 pieces of flakey catfish and fries. Now, one thing that I did notice, is that almost everything is breaded. Like, thiccc breading made of cornmeal instead of flour which added a “very mild corn-flavor” to everything. Mom got the chicken tender basket which came with 4 and an order of fries. I have this thing about overdoing breading… I feel, unless you have multiple types of breading for different dishes, then the breading is just there to hide something. Does that make sense? Anyway, the chicken tenders were straight. Next up was the order of chicken wings. These too were with the same exact breading, but these were pretty big wings. They were okay. They were a bit dry, but definitely needed a sauce of some kind. The sweet potato fries were actually pretty good! Thick cut, sweet potatoes that were decently seasoned. Last, but not least… the seafood combo! So, you can choose to create your own combo or choose one of the preset combos to make things easier. You start with one of 11 different seafood proteins. I chose to go with a pound of shrimp with heads off. The next step is to choose your seasoning. There are 4 to choose from, but you can mix them up. I ran with Cajun because I like spicy things! The 3rd step is to choose your heat level. It starts at 1 and goes all the way up to 4. I chose 3. So the last step is to add extras. All the boils come with a boiled egg, some corn and potatoes. However , I chose to add extra corn because I wanted some vegetables! You can also add sausage if you’d like. So, how was it? Fantastic. I loved how messy, juicy and flavorful everything was. It was so flavorful that I actually was tossing my chicken wings in the leftover juices from the boil! They need to offer that sort of service here. Toss the wings or whatever you want into those same seasonings that the boils are cooked in. I’ll be back!
Value: Excellent value if you ask me.
Fried Catfish Basket (4 Pieces w/Fries) = $10.99
Chicken Tender Basket (4 Pieces w/Fries) = $10.99
Chicken Wings (12 Pieces) = $12.99
Sweet Potato Fries = $4.49
Seafood Boil (Shrimp, Heads-Off) = $20.00
Extra Corn (2 Pieces) = $2.00
Excellent prices here at Crazy Crab and great for feeding a large family for sure.
In conclusion, I’d totally come back here. I’d ask for no breading on my wings (if possible) just so I could toss them into whatever sauce I get for my seafood boil next time!

The employees were very friendly, the prices were doable (not cheap, but I felt like it was worth it!) We were stuffed and it was a real treat.
We could have used small forks for the crab, but they provided regular forks, crab crackers, bibs, gloves, and paper towels.
The decor is a lot of fun. I really hope these folks do well. I’ll go again in the future.
I have to be honest as always. The only beef that I had with the restaurant was that I didn’t receive all of my food at one time and I hated that
