I ordered from Cravin for the first time through Uber Eats. My food was sent out and on the way almost immediately which, in hindsight, should’ve been a red flag.

I ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas (with oxtail gravy), plus sweet chili wings, a side of mac and cheese, and plantains.

The “jerk” salmon was simply a soft, fishy-tasting piece of salmon with a strange bottled brown sauce poured on top…nothing close to authentic jerk seasoning. (See attached photo for reference.) The oxtail gravy on the rice was weak and lacked depth, which makes me confident the oxtails themselves wouldn’t be any better. The rice and plantains were the only decent items, and that’s not saying much.

The mac and cheese looked and tasted like a mix of Velveeta with a little real cheese sprinkled between layers. The noodles were oversized and overcooked.

As for the wings — the photo on Uber Eats showed small, crispy-looking wings. What I received were huge, rubbery wings that looked like they came from antibiotic-pumped chickens. They were barely seasoned, soggy, and falling apart — clearly sitting in sauce all day. Wings should have at least some crunch, even with sauce on them.

I spent $60 on a meal that ended up in the trash. I wouldn’t even give it to my dog — and that’s because I actually care about him.

Ordered a Snapper for my daughter, she liked it, said the rice could of been more flavorful.

Ordered a Jerk Chicken for my wife, her remarks are the rice could be better but the chicken was seasoned perfectly!

They both gave it a 8.5/10.
We’ll return for sure, glad this spot is across the street.

Husband bought food from here 3 days ago. Paid over $150 for food that was dry and lacking taste. Very basic with little seasoning, especially the escovish fish. Rice had no coconut in it, no taste at all! Fried plantains were hard and not ripe. Everything was like old reheated food. Disappointing

Quaint Jamaican restaurant. Service is quick, and the food is decent. I got a large jerk chicken with rice and peas, and plantain. The chicken was moist but the amount of rice was overkill. I also got 3 patties, which were the stars of the show. If you’re going to visit try the curry chicken, jerk chicken, and spinach patties.

I tried Cravin in when it first opened in White Plains (see previous review). I only had breakfast there because how am I gonna pass up ackee and saltfish for breakfast? I was too thrilled they opened in Mount Vernon. Restaurant is clean and bright, the customer service is great, and the food is on point. I’m stuck on the fried chicken and rasta pasta right now, but the jerk wings and jerk chicken are good too. They have beef patties, even Jamaican ice cream. That Greatnutt tho! Definitely worth checking this spot out.
