Reviews
There is a very exclusive vibe to the restaurant with no windows to see inside from the outside. Coming from the UK we knew LA had a celebrity culture and we heard this spot is favoured by high profile guests so we opted to celebrate the birthday here to see what the buzz was about.
We managed to park out in front and immediately we noticed the paparazzi. Exciting to see as it’s not something I’ve seen this close back in London. We got taken to our table with Annie being our server for the night. Top service from her as she immediately recognised it was a birthday celebration and was helpful in recommending dishes and also explaining a bit about Craigs as well.
I usually don’t get amazed by food. Either it’s good food or bad food for me but the food I had Craigs did wow me. I had the Meldman’s Honey Truffle Chicken with cheesecake for dessert.
For it being a celebrity hotspot I was expecting a big bill at the end but I was surprised it was pretty normal fine dining prices (similar to what I’d pay in London).
The icing on the cake was discovering we was dining a couple booths away from Al Pacino. Overall it was a 5/5 experience. Not sure when I will next visit LA again but when I do I will 100% be coming back to Craig’s.
We had: key lime pie martini, whiskey sour (their own way), oysters, short rib risotto and a chicken piccata (it’s not on the menu, but you can ask). Everything was delicious. I unfortunately can’t remember our server girl name but she was awesome. Craig’s never disappoints
Beautiful evening at Craig’s — such a chic and stylish restaurant with amazing food and a great atmosphere. You really do feel like you might spot a celebrity here! Elegant but still warm and welcoming. Truly a special LA experience ✨ ️
Service was good, but the food was a letdown for the prices.
My burger was bland, and the ‘Basque Cheesecake’ was overbaked, lacking the signature creaminess. It tasted more like a standard American cheesecake without a crust.
Expected much better quality for this price point
The atmosphere was wonderful and buzzy. We tried the shrimp and burger, both were good! The kitchen also went out of their way when we happen to mention we would be sharing a burger and provided us with separate plates, which was a lovely touch.
The menu delivers exactly what you want from a modern American restaurant with an old school backbone. I had the spicy lobster pasta and it was once again a winner, perfectly cooked with generous lobster and just the right balance of heat and flavor. Craig’s is also known for its filet with blue cheese ravioli, a dish that combines comfort with elegance, and the cioppino which is a standout for seafood lovers. Even the vegan dishes here have earned their reputation as thoughtful and delicious, proving that the kitchen takes every part of the menu seriously.
The cocktails are perfectly crafted, strong and balanced, and the wine list complements the food beautifully. The atmosphere recalls the best of classic supper clubs with dark wood, soft lighting, and an understated glamour that draws both Hollywood names and everyday diners. It is the kind of place where you might spot a celebrity at the next table yet feel completely at ease yourself. The service is seamless, the management clearly attentive, and the overall experience is consistently excellent. Craig’s has been an anchor on Melrose for over a decade because it combines great food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes every night feel special. Five stars without hesitation.
