I love myself a good Cajun-style seafood boil, and Crafty Crab delivers. As I’m still new to seafood boil arena in the Tampa Bay area, I can’t really say that I have come across one that was truly lacking. You are looking at spending at least $98 for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, no matter which restaurant you go to – it seems like the market does a good job at leveling the pricing competition between these restaurants.
Crafty Crab is located essentially smack-dab in the center of Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area. Although we didn’t have issues with finding parking around 6-7pm on a Tuesday evening, the plaza can get quite busy with one row of parking on each side of a two-way lane that parallels the plaza.
As we walked into Crafty Crab, it did have a cleaner feel and presentation compared to another local boil spot. Our waiter/server was great and extremely patient with us as we contemplated our choices. He continued with the positive energy throughout the service which made our experience at Crafty Crab rather nice.
***Not sure if it was standard practice, but he offered to empty the boil bag onto the aluminum tray (compared to leaving it in the bag) as an option which made navigating the morsels easier in my opinion. It also made for saucing the steam rice easier – just slap that jawn onto the tray, mix, and enjoy.***
What I enjoyed about Crafty Crab, is that they seem to offer better combinations when it came to the seafood deals. Dungeness crab is our staple, and they had a great combo that pair Dungeness crab with snow crab and headless shrimp. The fried calamari came with not only marinara, but also a spicy-mayo-wasabi sauce that slapped.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with Crafty Crab if you’re looking for your Cajun boil fix!

It was our first time eating here. Great location and good food. There are plenty of combinations available, and plenty of good starters. We had the whole shrimp and snow crab legs. Try the Gumbo soup; you won’t be disappointed. Niah gave us great service and very detailed explanation of the menu options. We appreciate her very much.

We love Calamari… and this one was one of the best we’ve EVER had. It Came out piping hot and lightly battered, perfectly seasoned. Did need a lemon wedge, sauces where good. Got a Boom fire Crafty…and we have another meal of leftovers. Server was great, spices where on point. A lil disappointed with the Happy hour… deals were non existent. Seemed like regular pricing on drinks, and no appetizer deals

1st time eating here: service was excellent (Ren) she was very attentive with a great attitude.
We ordered hush puppies, they were good! We had the 1 lobster tail (very good size), the cluster of crab, tons of sausage and a decent amount of shrimp. We did the garlic butter flavor.
The restaurant is very clean, very much love the decor, we will be back!

Best things to get, would have to be king crab legs or headless shrimp boil. I would get lobster more often, but sometimes its a hit or miss with that one. Another excellent choice is the fried cat fish. Overall, highly recommend this place, through uber eats if you want something delivered quick and tasty.

We ordered delivery and the cheesecake we ordered was not delivered. The food itself was good although we ordered mild, it seemed a little garlicky with not enough butter. Tried to get a refund and although it said we would, the done button at the end of the pricess did not work so not really if we will.

This restaurant is delicious! Our family loves to eat at this location. The server, Jordany is very kind and always makes us feel welcome. Their food is great and if have seafood allergy they will always find you choices or side dishes you can eat. I also love their red sangria and large drink choices. Parking can be difficult sometimes in the afternoon of week days because there are many other restaurants and shops in the same plaza. Go visit and you will like it!

So before I start sorry I didn’t take a photos that’s how good this place was! Especially around this hour and day …there was hardly any one there my family and I decided to get basket meals then the boils we started with apps and after some cooking time our meals come out hot and fresh! Everything tasted good our waiter was super friendly and helpful and on top of it. I totally recommend coming here on a late Monday afternoon when hardly anyone is around and service and food is at its best

Wow! First time here… GREAT atmosphere! Food was FANTASTIC! Beers on tap, attentive service & good selection of food. Would recommend to a friend/family. If your price conscience be sure to check the menu online but definitely worth it! See pics for what we ordered! Being picky would be nice if they had grilled chicken for salad or grilled tenders however understand it is a seafood place! Gloves/bib provided to stay clean while eating!
