Craft Sushi has a lot of what I look for when dining out: healthy, low calorie, and fresh vegetables. I didn’t think that the quality or taste of the protein I chose (ahi tuna) was exceptional.

However, I like that it was a lean option. The toppings offered were fresh and varied. I liked being able to build my own bowl with so many choices.

The rest of my bowl (pictured) included greens, edamame, cucumber, carrot, apple slices, and Brussels sprouts slaw. My sauce (vinaigrette) was on the side and it had a good taste, just a little salty.

I tried a bite of two types of sushi rolls and found neither to be exceptional, either. They didn’t taste bad, but I’ve had better sushi elsewhere.

With all that being said, I would go back for the bowl but elsewhere for sushi.

I’ll start with a few good things. The approach on how they make your food (sandwich shop style) means you get everything pretty quick. I like that they locally source certain ingredients. It is a good spot for a low calorie, healthy meal.

That said…

This place lives in some grey area between getting sushi at a grocery store and going to an actual Asian/Japanese place.

There’s not some giant value here, I would estimate that prices are actually a bit higher than both a grocery store and an actual Japanese restaurant; it’s certainly more expensive than the former.

The menu rolls themselves are rather unremarkable, and most folks won’t fully embrace a “choose your own roll” concept for sushi.

Really, the bowl is the only thing I would go for if I’m not looking for a snack.

The location I was at had the embiance of a cheap motel’s Continental breakfast area. I wouldn’t recommend dining in.

All told, and this is my own opinion:

If you want quick sushi, go to Price Cutter. If you want a real sushi experience, go to Haruno, Sakura, etc. This place feels like some strange middle ground that doesn’t stand out in value, variety, or quality.

Also, if you are reading this (owner operator managers) stop your employees from explaining the concept as a “Subway for Sushi”.

I love this place. Craft sushi is a fantastic quick way to eat sushi without having to go through the ordeal of your standard restaurant. Sometimes I want sushi right away rather thank waiting 25 minutes at normal restaurants, and this is perfect for that.
Incredibly clean, ingredients and the restaurant. Tastes fantastic.

We were looking for a healthier option and saw this place and decided to try it. The food was delicious, my bowl was so worth it. I built my own bowl and added extra protein, the salmon was really good and I had a piece for every bite. All the little fixings choices were awesome, I was able to add extra sauce as well. My bf loved his and said it was very fresh and light. Perfect for a nice lunch.

A small restaurant. I was here for the first time with a friend – a great place in this town if you want to eat sushi or poke bowl. Very friendly atmosphere and great service and customer service. I think they use locally grown products for the food they sell. We had a very tasty and appetizing meal.

Love their spicy crab bowl. Go for lunch because it’s cafeteria style ordering and table service. Clean and fast service but not much of an atmosphere.

Love this new location + perfect for GF and dairy free diets!

I love the Thai chicken bowl and it’s always fresh & tasty! Just tell them you have an allergy (if you do) and they’ll help you pick something wonderful and even use different work areas to prevent cross contamination! Super super friendly staff as well!

Love the big eating area inside & out. Def recommend this place!!

Friendly staff, clean place. Food was average. Soy sauce were cheap packets w/no flavor. Basically salt water. I’m a Wasabi, ginger, soy sauce basic when I eat sushi. Those things need to be good.

Great if you have Celiacs or gluten allergies. Great vegan options too! Definitely recommend this place, customize your own roll or bowl and they even have locally bought produce. I’d give 10 stars if I could

I was completely surprised at how wonderful the food was. The staff is efficient, if a little disengaged. Not overly friendly, but 100% on task. The pricing is a on the high side, but portions are decent.
