This is a good location. The service was prompt and the food and drinks were good. The only disappointment was the hashbrown casserole. Normally it’s very good. I ordered it at dinner so I’ll only get it at breakfast moving forward so that it’s not dried out.

Because we travel, we often stop at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. My husband asked if I wanted to stop. I told him it’s winter and the CBOFS usually have their fires going. Seeing I’m allergic to so much, burning wood is one and strong smells. The minute we walked in the door, it smelled nice. No fire, I was relieved. Then walking right past the fireplace low and behold, there one was just a blazing. BUT I couldn’t smell it, no nose alerts. No smoke smell at all. So THANK you, THANK you
They have a new menu. I got a marriage of shepherds pie meets hashbrown casserole. Instead of mashed potatoes, they used hashbrowns casserole and pot roast beef, gravy, carrots, and peas. My honey had the grandpa breakfast. which used to be my favorite. We’ve had just about everything thing on the old menus. The food never disappoints.
There is plenty of parking for your big rig travelers. Look at photos included.
There is an open mall next door to knock out some shopping.
Kid Friendly food.

I’ve never had such a bad experience at Cracker Barrel. We waited about an hour to be seated, and over an hour for our food. The server barely paid attention to us, all while the manager walked around watching everyone with his tablet in hand and no urgency. When we got our food, it was cold. Not to mention, I ordered pancakes, and they are half the size they used to be, and with no volume! Our drinks also barely got refills. Probably once. Absolutely horrible experience and I won’t be back. If this is how you manage a restaurant, I’m surprised they’re still in business. I do not pay to go out to eat to experience this. They should close for being this bad.

I dined with my family earlier today and was assisted by a newer server, Yaretzi (spelling may vary). Her service was truly outstanding—attentive, professional, and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues that were outside of Yaretzi’s control. When these were brought to the attention of the restaurant manager, the response was unsatisfactory and did not resolve the concerns. While the management fell short, Yaretzi provided excellent service and deserves recognition.

I waited 20 minutes before being told they couldn’t make the dish I ordered because they were “out of mashed potatoes.”
The problem: Hashbrown Shepherd’s Pie does not use mashed potatoes. It uses hash browns. It’s in the name.
This wasn’t a supply issue; it was a basic failure to understand their own menu, compounded by the decision to let a customer sit for 20 minutes before saying anything.
No warning up front.
No apology.
No confidence that anyone there knew what they were doing.
I left without ordering anything. If a restaurant can’t accurately identify ingredients in a signature menu item or communicate availability before taking orders, that’s not a kitchen problem; it’s an operational breakdown.
Time wasted. Trust gone. Won’t be back.

I am glad to see that they have switched out the chairs that they had before where the sides were very tight against your hips. The new chairs even though still made of wood and no padding or more comfortable. The staff are so nice and helpful. The food was excellent and so was the service. All of the employees greeted you with a smile and made you feel very welcome.

We stopped in on the 30th of December and were greeted by Jessica, one of the most sweetest and caring person I have dealt with. Her personality is amazing-friendly, personable, smiling and happy to be at work. It’s evident she loves her job. You need more people like her. This is the Cracker Barrel in Gainesville, Tx off of 35.

We live in Marietta and come eat Cracker Barrel in Gainsville all the time. The last couple times we have eaten here it has gone from amazing to terrible. I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and fried cinammon apples. The chicken fried steak was tasteless, the fried cinammon apples that come in a separate bowl were mixed in with mashed potatoes and cold, the mac and cheese had a disgusting brown chewy substance in it that looked like scabs but was definitely not overcooked cheese. The mashed potatoes themselves had massive chunks of unmashed potatoes about the size of golf balls. Finally the service was super slow but she was extremely nice. I wanted to pay for my meal anyways since I ate a 1/4 of the steak but they comped my meal as courtesy. I might give it another try in the future but not until I see better reviews after the one I just gave.
