The food has always been great here. Sometimes you have to wait to be seated but get there at the right time and you get right in. We’ve had to ask for things we needed with our meal more then once. A spoon,A1, and syrup. Last time they were out of chicken tenders but over all very good.

I left my purse in the Cracker Barrel in Effingham as we were traveling home from vacation. Taylor Johnson, the manager there graciously shipped it to me. Everything was in tact. He would not let pay the shipping. So very kind of him and the staff for taking care of my purse!! Thank you Taylor.

I have to say the food was good but the waitress never asked how I wanted my burger. I like it well done but it came rare. She also didn’t ask my daughter how she wanted her eggs. Maybe she was having a bad I don’t know.

The service was very good. The atmosphere is exactly what you expect from a cracker barrel. The food just didn’t come out as fresh and delicious as it usually is. Like it was leftovers reheated. Not saying that’s what happened. Just that the quality wasn’t up to my expectations.

Val absolutely makes this experience great! Nevermind that she didn’t write anything down, but managed to remember everything… she was very attentive and got some laughs. She is definitely a keeper! The food was also great. It’s just what I wanted. The good had a nice taste, temperature, etc. The ladies at the cash register were also very nice! Great experience all around!

We arrived less than 10 minutes before closing, the last customers of the night. We were treated and served as if we had been then hours earlier. We had been traveling/flying (with a delay on top of that) all day and hadn’t had much to eat all day, so it was awesome to have such good service and food before ending our 2 1/2 hour drive from St Louis. Thanks so much!!
