Pretty much what you expect from a Cracker Barrel. We only went for dessert and everybody had the shareable cinnamon rolls, 6 people, 3 orders. They were good, but nothing really extraordinary. Very sweet, warm, again, nothing fantastic, but good. Our server was attentive and pleasant and our wait was very minimal.

As I have been a frequent diner at this establishment since I was young, it’s always a fairly decent experience in my eyes. Tonight, however; was an amazing one for me as a single customer. I ordered the Campfire Chicken, with biscuits and cornbread. As you usually do at any Cracker Barrel. The meal itself was quite good. I do feel like it needed more seasoning with it. The most excellent part of my meal was the attentiveness of my waiter for the night, Zachary. He was an all-star who made sure I, as well as other patrons were well taken care of. This location definitely has a gem of a waiter who takes his job whole heartedly with a smile. I can say with up most certainty, I will be back. Whether it be just myself, or with my family. Thank you. (Apologies in advance for the picture. Its not the best quality.)

It was a busy Sunday lunch. The place was trying to operate beyond their capacity. By the time we finally got seated, the server informed us that the kitchen was anticipating that orders would be filled in 30 minutes. While our server was sweet and doing the best she could, she was at the mercy of the kitchen staff.
After the meal, I commented that it was extrdinarily mediocre. While Cracker Barrel’s food has never been outstanding, it seem that it has made a shift toward more bland and uninteresting.

Ordered roast beef and grilled chicken with bacon and cheese, dumplings, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli. They forgot my broccoli and I had to go through 3 different people to place my to-go order. There are 3 people standing in front and none of them can take your order, seems kind of counterproductive. I stood there for a while before someone came out with a pen and pad to take my order. It was a very long wait for my food, so i wrnt to get gas and cane back. And continued to wait, finally my order came out. I went home and realized they forgot my dumplings, I called and they said i could pick them up the next day. The dumplings were like thick paste.
I hate to be harsh, but the portions are smaller and the flavorins seem different. The food is not as good as it used to be

I ordered the new shrimp and grits, and a side of the new seasoned rice, absolutely horrible!! The shrimp and grits were extremely greasy, and the rice was clumped together, cold and bland. The shrimp and grits made me sick all night long, from both ends. We eat cracker barrel 2-4 times a week, as we haul mobile homes and travel for work, but I will just stick to our usual, and never try anything new again.

Right off Hwy 64. I stopped for lunch and the restaurant was busy, but not crowded. Staff was friendly. Hostess brought us over to a dirty table and we had to stand in the aisle while we watched her clean and sanitize it. Although, it wasn’t a great impression, we were happy to see it was cleaned well. I ordered the grilled trout, mashed potatoes, and country beans. After a 45 minute wait, the fish finally swam to my table. The trout and country beans were excellent. The mashed potatoes were good, but I won’t rave about them. Overall, it was a good lunch, but the 45 minute wait for the food was a little long.

Wife and I stopped for late breakfast. I got the sunrise sampler, she got the pancake breakfast. With 2 drinks it came out to $28 plus tip. Food was great. Service was poor last time, but much better today, could have been due to how slow they were though. My main negative is that the biscuits were hard enough to break a window with. They need to replace then with fresh ones when they get that hard. Otherwise, everything was great and tasted very fresh!

You can’t go wrong with Cracker Barrel, and Shelbyville’s is one of the Best! Staff is always polite and food is delish.
Updating: Heidi did a great job on her very first day. The restaurant was packed but she was on top of just about every table she had.
