This was the worst food we’ve ever gotten. The biscuits weren’t cooked all the way, the cornbread had a very odd taste. The pancakes were too dense and not fluffy at all. My mom ordered extra crispy bacon and received floppy bacon. My grandma ordered the Old Time breakfast, it was okay, but not as good as usual. Her gravy arrived cool. I ordered the New York Strip Steak and while it was cooked correctly, it was a very low quality tasting steak with ZERO seasoning.
Lastly, our waiter, Willie. Bless him, he was so kind, but he does not have the mind to be a waiter. We had to repeat every single aspect of our order more than once. He brought me a Coke Zero that was so lightly colored it was obvious it didn’t have hardly any syrup in it. So I switched to Diet Coke. He said Dr. Peoper or Diet Coke? And I said oh no, Diet Coke because I’m a diabetic. Fast forward to refill time…I get a big ole gulp of Dr. Pepper! Ugh.
I hope it was just a bad night, but it was definitely not the amazing experience we have come to expect from a Cracker Barrel.
Ordered food, I did not get and when I said something about it.On the way out, they recharged me for it.I don’t know what’s going on.I just don’t think I’ll be back . The waitress.Could give a care less. The manager. She was good, but she was not a fixer. She’s very sweet though. Waited on someone to take our drink Order for over fifteen minutes and was going to leave. The manager caught us on the way out and said no.No, no, please come sit down. We’ll get you waited on. That was the very first mistake that I made.I should have left.
Our server Candace did phenomenally even though we showed up an hour before close and they were quite understaffed for the diners that came in around that time.
I had the seasonal special “Cinnamon French Toast”. It’s delicious and tastes like a hybrid of Cinnamon rolls and French toast.
She also took about 15 minutes to bring drinks — with an almost near empty restaurant. The real kicker, knowing that we had a table with young kids, our incompetent waitress brings out the basket of biscuits and cornbread WITH our food, instead of beforehand. I mean, common sense says that if the cook staff is behind, you should bring out the bread so that the diners aren’t starving. What were we going to do with bread once our food already got there? It ended up in a to-go box, which still took her about 10 minutes to get. The only thing I could think of was that she was busy doing everything else instead of actually working. She’s lucky my husband was there, because he’s a generous tipper even when service is awful; if it was me, she would have gotten $2.
