Walking in, we were surprised at how many people were there. I quickly noticed the fireplace was burning with wood. Something I haven’t seen in awhile in a cracker barrel.

Our waitress was very friendly when she was there… But there were long periods of time she was not seen and my drink sat empty.

The last two times I’ve been to cracker barrel, we are given delicious crumbling biscuits with absolutely NO PLATE to put them on. We didn’t have napkins or plates to put out biscuits on while we butter them and put jelly on them. I guess you’re just supposed to set them on a table full of germs. No plates to catch our crumbs or jelly drips also meant the table got messy and sticky. Especially where my child was sitting. Eventually I had to go to the kitchen to have somebody give me napkins since we weren’t getting plates or napkins from our missing waitress. BRING BACK THE SMALL PLATES FOR BISCUITS!!!!

Anyway, food was delicious. Overall a great experience with the food… Just mediocre with waitress missing for long periods at a time and no plates to put biscuits on.

Both of our Grandma’s Sampler were seriously lacking in the portion department. It looked like instead of two eggs per meal we got two eggs split between our plates. The ham was not even a complete slice on either plate and one of the hams was smaller in length and width than the piece of bacon. My buttermilk pancakes were good but the up charged Chocolate Chip pancakes were again slacking in the portion of chocolate chips. Glad we were only traveling through, as we would never eat here again if it were my “hometown” restaurant.

Exit 347 off of I-40 East

I left Nashville and headed on I-40 East towards 81 North and because I had a gift card here And I needed to eat something, I stopped at this Cracker Barrel.

It was not too busy, I was seated right away (1p)

Angela was my server and she was fantastic!
Very personable and patient, I had not been to a Cracker Barrel in a while And I had a couple of questions.

I wanted a coffee and she suggested a caramel latte, I ordered that iced – nummy nummy

I was thinking about French toast since yesterday, so I ordered half an order which was two pieces with a nice thick bread, toasted really well and was really tasty.
I also ordered bacon and received three pieces.
The bacon was cooked to perfection and was so tasty, I wish every other restaurant around had this perfect of bacon. Personally it just was a really good meal and I ate every bite, very satisfying.

I asked Angela for a large water with lemon to go and she added quite a bit of lemon and gave me the largest cup they had, thank you Angela!!

My total was under $14 with tax and that did not include the tip

They also have a rewards program, if you go here often or maybe you travel often enough and stop by here, I would definitely suggest joining.
The woman who checked me out said I had 30 days to use my free appetizer which was a welcome for joining.
I’m not sure exactly how the program works, but I’m just putting it out there.

My family and I stopped into the Cracker Barrel on May 21st. We arrived at 9:15 PM and the restaurant closes at 10 PM. We were a party of five. This was store # CB0006 in Harriman, TN. This visit was less than inspiring than were other instances with visits to other Cracker Barrel restaurants. I’m giving this dining experience only three stars for the following reasons, all having to do with food quality. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and efficient.
I ordered a country fried steak, fried okra and a tossed salad. The fried okra was only warm and not fresh from the fryer like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended time. The lettuce for my salad was not cold and crisp but rather limp like it too had been sitting for some time. The country fried steak had a strong greasy flavor which I found undesirable. Others in my party reported that their meals were satisfactory. These included chicken pot pie, roast beef, classic hamburger.
One general complaint I had at this and other Cracker Barrel restaurants is, if you want their classic southern fried chicken platter you must accept the chicken pieces that come with it. There is no choice if you want to substitute pieces. I, personally, don’t like the breast and asked to substitute a thigh or a drumstick for the breast. The waitress said no so I asked for a manager and, he too, said that it was their policy to only offer a thigh, breast, drumstick and a wing and that no substitutions would be allowed. For this reason I declined the fried chicken and opted for the country fried steak when what I really wanted was fried chicken. I believe this policy is unecessarily rigid and would affect my restaurant choice in the future if I had a hankering for fried chicken. In all fairness I must say that we came late and were the last ones out of the restaurant at 10:25 PM. This may explain the luke warm fried okra and the soggy salad but I expect quality to remain stellar until the last minute. After all, they don’t discount the food price even if you arrive late. In summary, I think the food is generally good at most Cracker Barrels I have eaten at. I just think that they could have done better on the night we were there.

I love this Cracker Barrel in Rockwood. It feels more like down home than many of them.
The food was amazing, those tater tots are filled with cheese! And the service was amazing!
This is a minor but annoying thing. But Cracker Barrel now never gives you anything to stir your coffee with. You don’t get a spoon. And when you asked for something they give you a soup spoon???

One of the better Cracker Barrels for overnight parking. Yes, Cracker Barrel tolerates RVers using their parking lot for overnight and it’s free with the kind request that if you could perhaps make a purchase, it would be appreciated.

Tonight, it was the grilled catfish with a side salad and steamed broccoli. Cooked perfectly, served friendly and a completely delicious meal.

The store is clean and tidy, well stocked with all the orange “Tennessee Volunteers” gear you could need if you’re headed to a game.

The parking area wasn’t quite level but two leveling blocks solved that. And it was certainly quiet being this far away from the highway. I departed before 5am so no breakfast today!

Eh.. we usually look for local places but we didn’t know where to go so we went here. We wanted brunch and a good morning mimosa. So we figured we’d give them a shot. Food was ok. The biscuit gravy was very bland. The hashbrown casserole was very small portion and dry. The worst was we ordered a pitcher of peach mimosa, when she brought it.. it was like someone drank half the pitcher already. So not impressed with that. Serve a pitcher, priced accordingly. It shouldn’t come out looking half drank with most of the peach frozen to the pitcher in my opinion.

I have to say that my waitress, Casady, was the best waitress I have had in Tennessee. She did everything you would hope a waitress would do, and went the extra mile. It was the best Cracker Barrel experience, thus far! 5-shooting stars
