Reviews
Let me be crystal clear from the jump: Our waitress, Alexa, was an absolute gem—a kind, attentive, and professional Southern Belle. Daniel, the manager on duty, was also a class act who did everything in his power to handle a bad situation. They both deserve five stars and a better place to work.
And that’s where anything positive ends.
This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We’ll start with the environment: The restaurant was freezing cold to the point of being genuinely uncomfortable.
Then came the food, which was a catastrophic failure across the board. The “Country Fried Steak” was not steak. It was a thin, breaded hamburger patty. The seasoned rice was old, hard, and crunchy. My mom’s fried fish was fried into oblivion, and the replacement mac & cheese was a soupy, milky mess. The kitchen is completely broken.
After Manager Daniel professionally comped my disastrous meal, we went to pay the remaining $63 bill. The final insult? They fumbled the transaction. When my aunt tried to split the payment across two cards, the staff somehow managed to overcharge her by $18.
A restaurant has two primary functions: serve edible food and correctly process payment. This establishment failed spectacularly on both counts. The only thing preventing this from being a complete meltdown was the heroic effort of its floor staff.
This one-star review is for the Cracker Barrel establishment in Chattanooga as a whole—for a kitchen that sends out inedible food and a front counter that can’t handle a simple transaction. Corporate needs to take a hard look at what’s happening here, because your good employees like Alexa and Daniel are being put in an impossible position.

The Stuffed dishes didn’t have alot of creme but we were able to ask for more on the side. Eveything was delicious!
Enjoyed a game of checkers, as our girls enjoyed a bit of shopping before our dinner was done. Lots of cute ELVIS, and Chicken and DOG lovers kind of stuff amongst much more of course. Something for everyone! If you have not been before , stop it, I’m sure they won’t disappoint you! Thank you all!
The food was ok. Asked for medium rare got medium to medium well.
This is not the Cracker Barrel we grew up on. Food is bland, cooked as to what they want even after asking how you want it. The hash brown casserole and fried apples were always the favorite. Sadly, not anymore. Flavorless and just not as good. Hash brown portion was disappointing.
The server, Maleah, was fabulous. Thank you exceptional service.
