My wife got it with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, French toast, and the cooked apples, which were delicious. I got it with eggs over medium, sausage and bacon, blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup and the cheesy potato casserole, which is out of this world.
Everyone there is very nice and the food was all cooked perfectly and delicious.
Sometimes it can be a little jammed up in the little gift shop that they have attached but today it wasn’t too bad, we got in and out pretty quick.
The pancakes were good as always, and the grilled chicken was tender with great flavor. The $5 add-on was a solid value, but the main entrée really missed the mark.
My pickup time was supposed to be 9:20, but when I arrived, I had to wait an additional 25 minutes because I was told the chicken was a “dinner item” and had to be cooked. If certain items aren’t meant to be sold during breakfast, they should be removed from the online ordering menu.
Overall, disappointing experience aside from the pancakes and chicken.
I love it and will be coming back again and again. I am telling everyone
I was disappointed with the quality of food. I have eaten many a meal at Cracker Barrel over the years yet it seems the quality of food has gotten worse. First, I asked for water with lemon and I was informed that they were currently out of lemons. Then I looked for the Hamburger Steak on the menu and was informed that it was taken of the new menu but you can still order it which I did. When the meal was served the Hamburger Steak I ordered looked like a hamburger. The corn kernels were the smallest I had ever seen at Cracker Barrel and the creamed potatoes were overly firm. After eating what I could I decided to order desert so I placed an order for my favorite desert at Cracker Barrel peach cobbler and ice cream to which I was informed that they no longer serve peach cobbler. I just shook my head in disbelief and muttered “What has happened to Cracker Barrel?” The service was excellent. My waitress, Iris, was prompt, courteous and pleasant. I hope Cracker Barrel will devote attention to the quality of their food instead of media exposure.
The bathroom was sloppy, see picture attached.
Today’s
Quantity, of food was reminiscent of years passed. I had chicken and dumplings and the chicken; It was fabulous. The dumplings were real thin the way I like them. I only added a little pepper. Carrots and broccoli were cooked perfectly. The bread basket came out with 3 freshly baked hot biscuits and three cornbread muffins with lots of butter and lots of jam. Yum!
I was greeted by a friendly hostess who put me on the waiting list, I walked around and checked out all of the nice merchandise and then I was seated at a comfortable table facing a crackling fire!
The person who made my experience the best though was the young lady who waited on me.
She greeted me with a smile, wished me a Happy Valentine’s Day, complimented me, brought the great tasting food out in a timely manner, refilled my drink and made sure that everything went perfect.
What a great experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Natalie made us feel instantly at home. She served me the best-tasting iced tea I’ve had in a long time, and before we even had a chance to order, she had already refilled my glass twice, without us asking. It may sound small, but that kind of attentiveness and care is rare.
While we were waiting for our food, another kind young woman named Lily noticed I was standing near the fireplace trying to get warm. Without being asked, she quietly added more firewood so the room would be warmer for us. That simple, thoughtful gesture said a lot about her character.
We ordered steak and eggs, and the food was absolutely amazing. As we sat there, I told my 16-year-old son something important. I explained that no matter how fancy a five-star restaurant might be in a big city, no matter how much money you could spend, it doesn’t get any better than this.
I wanted him to understand a principle that matters in life: it’s not about status, luxury, or appearances. It’s about people. The people God puts in your path, their kindness, humility, and genuine care, are the most valuable gifts you’ll ever experience.
That morning, through two exceptional Cracker Barrel employees, my son didn’t just hear that lesson, we both lived it.
