Standard chain restaurant serving American comfort food. Good food, good service, good value. Very nice selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Was traveling and just needed dinner. Found a nice item on menu. Large portion so only ate half. Zoe was attentive and pleasant. Oh and the biscuits! Give them a try. Sure you’ll be pleased!

I’ve never really liked Cracker Barrel food and have been a couple of times before but it has been years. It was suggested that we meet up for a family dinner and Cracker Barrel was mentioned and thought I’d give it another chance.
Wish I hadn’t.
I ordered the campfire chicken and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp with fries. The picture looked amazing.
My boyfriend’s meal arrived and it was a very small amount of shrimp in an almost completely dried up sauce/glaze and the fries that came with it were about 5 really sorry looking frozen fries. The whole meal looked really sad and crappy.
Mine arrived and they brought me beef, not the chicken that I ordered. No big deal, let our server know and she said she would bring a replacement – all good.
There was bread to eat while I waited, the bread itself wasn’t bad but the tiny butter packets they brought out could have come out of the freezer, they were so hard and cold and trying to spread it on the bread just tore the bread to pieces.
My chicken took a while to come out, so much so that everybody else has almost finished eating by the time I got it. I opened the foil up and not only was it hot but two hobbits ran past and tried to throw a ring in it.
I won’t be giving any more chances, the food here is just not good. Their store is great, if a little over expensive but they have some cute stuff. But as far as food goes, it’s just really bad. They did not even offer us any apology by way of discount or anything – really disappointed.

I’ve experienced this restaurant a lot over the years, but today was my first breakfast. Let me just say whoever is cooking and plating have no idea how.
1st, my waitress filled the coffee cup to the brim, leaving no room for sugar or cream.
2nd, the biscuits and gravy were served in a basket?! Have y’all ever eaten biscuits & GRAVY? Had to ask for a plate.
3rd, the pancakes had their chips and pecans all in the center. Not evenly dispersed. A lump of melted chocolate in a pancake was not very pleasing to the eye or the palate.
In conclusion, I believe they need a few lessons.

Travels take us all over and we can always get a good meal, and in some cases park our rig for a nite, enjoy a hot breakfast and head out. Always good service. Good food.

(UPDATE 1 year later) Sorry to say cracker barrel has eliminated many of the healthy choice items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Like veggie omelettes and their broccoli chicken casserole.
And also raised all their prices. And sometimes a 30-minute wait to get a table. Very disappointing . . . Corporate greed, like everywhere else.
You’ll find much better choices at the Golden Corral. Especially their $10 Senior Lunch, 1-3 pm, Monday – Friday. Or Chipotle, not far away.

A year after my last review below and doordashed it this time. Never again. The portions are a joke!!! Staying with Mooresville Family Restaurant down the street from here on out.
Had a decent experience on this date but the restaurant is severely understaffed so expect a wait of at least 45 minutes to an hour from the time you walk in the door through the time you get your food. I came in on a Monday at 11:30AM. Server was hustling her tail off so no complaints there. The restaurant was half empty and the kitchen took forever to get food out. Clearly a case of being understaffed.

We stopped by Cracker Barrel for dinner recently and we were happy with our visit. Our service was slightly slow even though the restaurant was about half full. Besides that, the food was great as usual. We ordered the Chicken & Dumplings along with Country Fried Steak. Everything tasted great and we enjoyed our visit.

I had an order ready for pickup at 1:48. I went in around 1:54, told the cashier I have curbside order and gave her my name. She told me curbside will bring it out so I went back to my car. About 10 minutes later I went back inside to ask hostess and same cashier interrupted and pointed and said it’s sitting over there (where to go orders are) and said she told them to bring it out. Then I’m going down the road and notice my salad didn’t even have the egg it comes with.. I only put no tomatoes or croutons.

The food was always terrific and only topped by the service. I’ve been here a few different evenings over the past couple of weeks, and it has always been great. Maddy is an excellent server, and her timeliness and attention is top notch. Will definitely return again soon…

It’s Cracker Barrel what can I say haha. Service was great she was on it! Love their pancakes. Always good. I’ve been to many across the states. I will say though, I definitely make better scrambled eggs. Their fried chicken is pretty dang good too. And I love all the stuff to look at. It’s so kitchy & all the classic old candy.
