Hands down the worst Cracker Barrel we’ve ever eaten at! We always look forward to going when traveling to an area that has one. We were all starving and couldn’t wait to be served our favorite dishes. Service took a while, lomger than usual…that was OK. It was the food that was just horrible. 4 dinners, all like warm at best. 8 had chicken and dumplings with fried okra and grits as my sides. Dumplings were gummy, way too many for the amount of chicken and no gravy with it dry. The okra was not hot at all, as though they have been sitting on a counter not even under a warming light. The grits was the last straw! Lumpy, not cooked all the way, and zero seasoning…a pinch of salt goes a long way when serving up southern food. WOW! My kids were served like warm chicken tenders and not even like warm fries that were definitely not freshly fried! Shame on you Troutville Cracker Barrel. And yes, I did say something, ma ager was called, I made it very clear I was not looking for free food…but awareness. Manager assured me she could get hot and fresh food right back to me quickly…What? Like what…you will get the new meal from the “fresh” pile? No thanks. Then said, but I’ll take your meal off! Geez…thanks a lot, meaning I may have had to also pay for a cold, dry, overcooked meal that I thought to be inedible?? Don’t waste your time or money on this exit…keep going and hope the next one is better. Oh and the cornbread was so hard and dry we could knock it on the table for noise!

I can speak for the majority of ppl who eat at cracker barrel by saying thank you for firing the head of marketing for trying to remove Uncle Hershel from the logo, also for trying to remodel the restaurants. There’s a reason it’s loved by all who enter because it feels like home when you eat there. Food is good, vibes are there, great place to eat.
Don’t think about changing it ever again!
If it ain’t broke don’t “fix it”

I had a server that did not want to serve me. She kept disappearing and I kept running out of water. The food was very delicious except the pork chops needed more gravy.
I love to have a biscuit with blackberry jam but that wasn’t going to happen with the girl I had today , so I ordered a coke cake with ice-cream. At this a different server was bringing me water.

We love our local Cracker Barrel! We’re there frequently. 98% off the time the food is great and so is the service! This visit was in the 2% area. Our server was super sweet but never came back to check on us after delivering the food until she brought the check. We’d both been out of drink for quite some time. The food was definitely good, though! There were not many patrons eating; there was snow and ice on the roads and had been for a couple of days. The staff out in the store was super nice and helpful as always.
We’re not difficult to keep happy… just check on us periodically and refill drinks. We believe in tipping really well… just don’t leave us with no drink for most of the meal!

Our morning started with a 20 minute wait due to Cracker Barrel being busy. Looked around the store part to kill time. Breakfast was good and our waitress was really good. Especially with them being so busy. All employees that we encoutered were friendly and helpful.

My group’s stop into Cracker Barrel today was met with enthusiastic, attentive, honest and generous service by Grace and her supporting staff. It was our first real meal of the day coming off many hours driving, and while the kitchen was out of the type of chicken for several of our dishes, we were able to work out good substitutions and satisfy a real hunger. The food was real nice—tender chicken, warm food, well seasoned—and quick too! The manager on duty and Grace made sure our group was accommodated and that any mishaps were corrected. Things happen, and the team worked hard to make the right things happen. Our positive experience felt well considered. Couldn’t have asked for a better server in our scenario, and the food was worth any sense of wait. Solid dinner with my friends. Would absolutely come back for more!

THANKS AGAIN for a fun night out to the staff, our group appreciates how well Grace and the kitchen quickly handled a series of unfortunate events. If you’re looking to dine in as a passerby —DO IT! The chicken really is so good!!

Worst experience ever!!! The waitress (Tabitha) didn’t pay attention to our table. People that were seated after us, were served before us and even left waayyy before we did. My first glass of sweet tea was unsweet. I ordered a breakfast burger with NO bacon and got a regular burger. My utensils were dirty, had old food on them, and I never got new clean ones. When I finally got the breakfast burger I ordered, it had bacon on it after I specifically asked for NO bacon. I was here for over an hour! After ALL this time waiting, I have food I still can’t eat!

Everything was great except for the rule that they require 2 servers for groups of 8 people? We had 6 adults and 2 infants. The one server told us she had to wait for the other server to get to our table before she could take our order. I have been a server before at a few restaurants (even at Cracker Barrel a LONG time ago) and have never experienced such a thing. I feel it is unnecessary. It made everything take longer. She came back several minutes later to take our order alone because the other server was still not available. The restaurant was not even busy. Do better Cracker Barrel.

On New Year s eve after all the hustling for Christmas. Decided to go for a home cooked meal with my daughter and two grands. I must say it was very nice. We had the BEST of the BEST Server. The food was delicious and omg the cornbread and biscuits were delicious. Thanks Jamie and Cracker Barrel. Everything was spectacular ✨️

This Cracker Barrel had a great gift shop and fabulous down home country cooking. It had the consistency that you expect when you go to this restaurant.

It was Sunday about 10:30 a.m. and the place was busy, there was only about a 20 minute wait and when we got seated we were immediately given water and had our waitress. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We both ordered pancakes, eggs, grits and meat. Additionally there were home fires and real maple syrup. Everything was completely as expected and many staff checked on us .

We also had coffee and a mimosa. Both were delish. Highly recommend the peach mimosa as a Sunday special!
