Food was good. Our waitress was trying her best to keep up with two whole sections by herself. Hostess was not very welcoming/pleasent. person bussing tables had no clue what they were doing. whole meal and we never even got napkins even asking multiple times. kids went to the restrooms and brought paper towels back to the table.
we could tell they were very understaffed and being right off of I95 just made it worse. seemed to be a lack of training and even the simple decision making was out of reach. A LOT needs to change before we would think about returning.

Your cousin I stopped for dinner. I had the country fried steak with broccoli the broccoli was good, but the steak with the the gravy on top was horrible. Matter of fact the gravy did not even look like gravy. I was not impressed

It was before 7am when I arrived, which was perfect for my visit to Emporia. Cracker Barrel will always be my favorite breakfast stop while traveling. Uncle Herschel’s platter is my favorite menu item. However this location was out of catfish, to my surprise trout was available as the alternative. Have been wanting for a very long time to try trout just have never got around to it, have never caught one as an avid fisherman. I had the most wonderful breakfast and thank you cracker barrel for giving me the chance to finally try trout. ❤️

Crackle Barrel off 95 near Rocky Mount. Sweet waitress but very young and slow. Worst breakfast I have ever had. Absolutely inedible and I correct – had to send it back – just disgusting.

Stopped by to grab lunch due to a wreck slowing down traffic. Sat down quickly waitress was attentive checked on us often. The mash potatoes weren’t quite as creamy as I have had at other Cracker Barrel’s. The chicken and dumplings were great! The presentation of the food was a bit off putting as it may have sat a minute and looked a bit unappealing but the taste was good.
The meat loaf was a tad bit dry as you can tell from the photo

I got steak tips, mashed potatoes and green beans. The beans tasted like a can, the steak tips were chunks of salty leather but the potatoes were ok… attached is my entree. I hadn’t touched anything- that’s how it was served.
My kids got the chicken tenders- they were ok. Husband said the pancakes were good.
Maybe the restaurant had an off day? We will definitely will not be going back and I do not recommend going there. Better luck going to Burger King, KFC, or Taco Bell ‍♀️

We live in North Carolina, so this was our first visit to a Cracker Barrel in Virginia. One of the things I love about Cracker Barrel is the option to order either breakfast or lunch, which is why we chose it for our meal that day. However, the food wasn’t as consistent as I’ve experienced at other locations. We did have a 20-30 minute wait for a table, but my daughters always enjoy browsing through the store while we wait, so that helped pass the time.

The waitstaff was efficient but not particularly friendly, and a bit dismissive. I never received a drink refill, which didn’t bother me much, but I would have appreciated my daughters and mother getting refills as needed. Unfortunately, the location was out of the daily special and a few other menu items, limiting our choices. When I had to pick a different dish, I felt rushed as our server didn’t offer to give me a time to decide. I know she had good intentions, wanting to get the order in quickly, and I didn’t want to hold up my family, but it made the experience a bit stressful.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. The manager on duty on the evening of 5/7/25 is horrible. My Goodness Cracker Barrel please fire this woman. Apparently the 1 and only manager to help anyone in any situation is soooooo busy working on the grill line that I was on HOLD for TWENTY-SIX minutes and hung up on once! I waited 15min past my curbside pickup time (and yes I clicked the stupid “I’m Here” button 5min before the pickup time!! I only ordered sausage, eggs, and biscuits! Igot 2 eggs instead of 3, and my 1 order of impossible sausage was COLD and so were the eggs. This was my kids dinner. 3 out of the 4 biscuits were SO BURNT and hard as freaking ROCKS . My kids were so upset I split the 4th and *lightly* burnt hard biscuit between them. On top of that this freaking fiasco with “the manager” who isn’t being a manager at all. I worked as a manager in the food industry for 7 years and I’ll be darned if I treated a customer like this I would have been fired. Absolutely unacceptable. Ridiculous, no managerial skills at all. Can’t handle a single phone call when it’s not even busy at 7:45pm. Don’t go here, don’t waste your money, and don’t ever order curbside. Wasted $20 and I wish I hadn’t tipped.

The waitress was friendly and polite. It’s Cracker Barrel so the food always takes a little bit, but it’s always fun to window shop when you have time to explore. I would highly recommend the hashbrown casserole tots. Always good comfort food!

Not good at all! Our server barley came to our table, I think she got our drink order and we told her we needed a moment to look over the menu, 20 mins mins went by i finally had to get up and go find her.. she finally got our food order. I will say the food came out pretty fast but my tenderloins were dry, my Mac an cheese was burnt. Over all just a bad experience not to mention the staring at my husband and I from the customers and upfront cashiers Im assuming because we are a young couple and not dressed like cow boys an cow girls they thought we didn’t have money. The gift store had some pretty cool stuff but they way we were treated while paying for our food i didn’t buy anything.
