Great stop off the highway. Had a lovely lunch. Wait was just 5 minutes. I had the Sunday special of boneless fried chicken. My two sides were the delicious hash brown casserole and Mac and cheese. Really loved the peach iced tea. Definitely enjoyed ourselves.

At the Chester location you always have to wait 10 to 20 minutes to be seated I got there at 7pm and was seated within 10 minutes, food was served and I was out by 7:42pm. That’s good timing and the food was delicious and worth the little wait time to be seated. I grew up in the country so my favorite foods are biscuits, fried apples and chicken. I dined in, there was a cozy atmosphere and the server had a pleasant attitude. As I waited to be seated I took the opportunity to check out the beautiful displays.

Came in for a Saturday breakfast. Very busy. Got seated right away. The girl that took our order was actually a host who seemed to be cross trained into serving. (May have been helping out the server) She was so wonderful! Quick, very nice and the order was correct! The pancakes were so good!

We had an amazing waiter…. David I think. He made us feel so welcomed. The food portions were great for the price! It was my first time there so I didn’t know what to expect. Diverse and friendly staff was plus. Food was great! We had mimosas as well (buzz buzz)We went for brunch so not too big of a crowd. I’d recommend!

Wait was about 25 minutes. Service was okay. Food was served hot and tasty. My Mom’s catfish was a lot smaller than portions I have received in the past. I got the chicken tenders, and it was a lot! When serving fries, please bring the ketchup. I had to borrow one from another table after waiting about 10 minutes for server to return… Restaurant was clean, as was the restroom.

Like many restaurants since the pandemic, everyone is shortstaffed. The wait for our food was about 45 minutes when ordinarily it takes 15 minutes, tops. We were patient as we are understanding human beings. Our server thanked us for our patience, the food was plentiful and tasty as always.

I will not be returning to Cracker Barrel until they correct their menu. Here’s what has happened to my favorite meal – Country Boy Breakfast (and I’m sure other meals) in the past 2 years:

This was the Cracker Barrel located in Chester, VA off of 95 south. On the outside, it didn’t appear to be well kept. There was water on floor as we were being seated, no warning. Food was good except I had to send the eggs back to be cooked how I’d ordered them. Waitress was okay. Didn’t check on us too much. The ladies handicap stall was filthy. Had to roll pants up so as not to touch the floor. Needless to say, won’t be returning here.
