I swear I use to be able to get that peg puzzle down to a single peg every time, but I also think the puzzle we had on our table was missing a peg. Oh well.
Had 4th of July breakfast with my old man here, pretty quite at first but picked up considerably once 9:00AM rolled by. Ended up going with an order of the Grandma’s Sampler and a Decaf coffee, coming to around $20 before tax and tip. (Old man went with Pecan Pancakes, and a double order of eggs.)
Pancakes were soft and easy to cut, the included bottle of syrup was just enough to cover both though there was only enough butter for one. Of course they were rich, filling, and gone pretty quickly. The eggs were suppose to be scrambled, but it came out more like an omelette. They were alright, needed a bit more salt and pepper. The sausage was super tasty and meaty, the bacon was savory and slightly chewy, but the country ham was far too salty. Had to water it down with some syrup to make it passable. Also picked the fresh fruit as my side dish, at an up charge, but the fruit was accurately described including strawberry, blueberries, and pineapple. And while the decaf coffee was nothing special, almost watered down in flavor, they did have free refills which I appreciated.
Had a lovely meal with my old man, the noise level was pretty quiet so we had no trouble talking, and the waitress was good about checking up on us. Overall, a good time.
The country store part of it was great as well, we’ll definitely be back!
The waitress was friendly and service seemed to possibly be picking up. The appetizer came quickly and was fairly decent. However, upon being served the main courses, we had to ask for silverware. Of the three entrees, the steak, which was ordered medium, came raw and had to be sent back for extra time, along with the sides not being hot. The kids chicken tenders were also tough. Once finishing it seemed perhaps the workers in the dining area just didn’t want to be there.
Upon leaving and paying the bill, the cashier was unaware how to process a gift card without a pin and such almost took a good ten minutes to process. With other similar restaurants in the area, such may be a better choice until some changes are made here.
