Popped into Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (Wrentham, MA) for the first time ever for breakfast. Once you arrive, you immediately walk through their old-country store—packed with vintage candies, nostalgic toys, home-style décor, & all kinds of Southern charm. It feels like stepping into a cozy general store from decades ago, with rocking chairs out front & shelves full of jams, sauces, classic snacks, & quirky gifts you didn’t even know you needed. I also dined in for breakfast & ordered the sausage & egg hash brown bowl topped with gravy, & it was pure warm comfort food—rich, hearty, & exactly the kind of dish that makes you want to sit back & savor the moment.

This was the first time going to Cracker Barrel, and boy, was it a great treat! I’ll start with they had games and seating outside before you walk into the old country store. We were greeted by a friendly staff member. The store definitely gives country store feelings with fun trinkets, do dads, candy, and some unique sodas. Once we walked through the store, we came to the entrance to the restaurant, and we were seated promptly. The atmosphere was the same as the country store and southern charm. The service was second to none, and our server, Frannie, was amazing! We told her this was our first time, and it was a bit overwhelming. She was great and explained everything and made recommendations and we were glad we took her advice! The food was southern comfort food, and it was all delicious! Kids loved breakfast for lunch and actually went with the milk with candy straws over soda. That’s right, candy filled straws! We also got the crispy chicken sandwich, which was flavorful, moist, and a big ol’ piece of chicken! We also got the chicken pot pie, which was tasty, and the light and flaky crust was light and baked to perfection. One other thing that caught us off guard was that you don’t pay on the restaurant. That’s right! You take the receipt back to the country store and pay on your way out. F.Y.I. you can leave a cash tip at the table or add it when paying at registers. We all loved the food and the whole experience! I can’t believe it took us this long to go, but we’ll be frequenting this establishment often!

I think my taste buds are moving away from comfort food. I had the country fried steak. It was ok. I will say that Marcos and Danielle were excellent host and waitress.

I loved this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Their focus is primarily on chicken dishes, and they truly excel at it! I opted for the healthy option, chicken breasts, which were delicious and perfectly cooked—not at all dry.
By the way, I found it amusing how the symbol indicates a dish has relatively lower calories and ⏰ means you can get your food prepared quickly.

“Cracker Barrel” always reminds me of my student years. I love this place, the food is not fancy but good. My husband had never been there before and I decided that he had to try it. He was not disappointed. Our server was nice and friendly, and always checked on us. I like the atmosphere there, everything reminds me of the good old days. After our dinner, we had a good dessert. And the best part is that you can walk around the store and check what they have over there.

Nice being in front of the fire on a cold spring night. The country cooking is very appealing. The homestyle fried chicken was cooked perfectly. Atmosphere is
great with all the americana tools, pictures and signs from yesteryear. Prices are very resonable.

This place has gone so downhill. I was so excited to eat here and could not believe how bad it was. This is the second time I have felt this way in a row. The first time, I thought it was a mistake, so I didn’t write the review, and now I have to because management has to make changes. The staff did not care. The food was poorly created and served. I was utterly shocked at the basic disregard of this restaurant. The food was disgusting and should not have been served. It was like microwaved food that had been warmed up from someone else’s leftovers. One of their signature plates is chicken and biscuits, and it typically has a great, thick, and tasty gravy. Well, today, it tasted like fish juice water. See the video to see how watery and loose it was. It was odd. We were told that the corn muffins were cooking and they would be out afterward, and they never came. Our waitress disappeared for a long period of time. Having another person come to serve us. 3 out or the 5 plates she served weren’t ours and had to go back. So we ate in shifts, destroying our family dinner that we were supposed to be enjoying together. It was free refills on sodas. And they never came back, so we couldn’t get free refills. That we ended up spending $4 on sodas that we couldn’t even refill. Every single thing about this place was wrong and off that day. Even the cooks that day didn’t know what they were doing. The best part of that day was their shop and that is sad seeing we were at a restaurant.

This was the first time that we’ve visited a Cracker Barrel restaurant… no, store.. no, restaurant…
We were looking for a place to grab a late lunch in the area, so we decided on Cracker Barrel. When we first pulled up, there were about 30-40 rocking chairs outside (for sale), strange. Then, upon entering the building, we realized we were in a store… a “country store” gift shop type of place. It was a pretty good size store too… again, strange. It took us a few moments to find the entrance to the restaurant part, which was in the back corner, behind all the shelves of stuff for sale. Once we got over there, we were warmly greeted, and shown to our table. We ordered the fried chicken, which seemed to be one of their popular dishes/specialty. It came out quickly, and was served hot. Everything looked and tasted pretty good. The service was great. Overall it was a nice meal. The whole walking through a retail store, and discovering the restaurant in the back was weird, but made for an interesting experience I guess.
