Unfortunately this was a big disappointment. The food is not what we had hoped, nor Mexican in any meaningful way. The much-talked-about tri-tip was overcooked and evidently sat in its own juices too long, making it chewy and flavorless. The salsas tasted bottled, not a hint of spice, and the guacamole was overly acidic, likely heavy on lemon to keep it from oxidizing and looking fresh longer.

The tacos were terribly bland, even our kids wouldn’t eat them. We were hoping Coronado finally had a good taco spot, but this is not it. If you want tacos without leaving the island, Clayton’s Rolled Tacos and Burritos is still the better option. For real tacos, head to Barrio Logan or Chula Vista.

We wish them the best of lucks, it’s hard opening a business, and I believe there are tastes for everything. But if you’re into good Mexican food, this is not the place for now.

The food was good, but the menu was misleading. The prices on their menu do not match what you actually pay on the kiosk. For example, the churros were listed as $6.95 on the menu, but I was charged $8.34. And that’s before tax. So it’s kind of giving predatory business practices, but hopefully they’ll just update their menu prices soon to reflect accurate charges.

On the upside, the food was good and they’re one of the few places open late on Coronado.

Absolutely obsessed with Crack Taco Shop! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and hits every time. The tacos are packed with flavor, the portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade and high quality. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and keeps the vibe fun and relaxed. It’s the perfect spot for a quick bite or a casual meal that never disappoints. Easily one of my go-to taco spots in San Diego

Highly recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint! You gotta try the tri-tip, but be careful….potentially habit forming! Had to go back for more. The grilled fish is also tasty. Generous servings for street tacos. Very pleasant staff, even late at night.

The crack tri tip burrito was actually really great. I do think the price was seemed a bit much at 17-18 $ but at the same time it is a hugeee burrito. They load that up holy.
The big one’s great, but I wouldn’t mind there being a smaller one too… so i could spend a bit less and still enjoy

If you’re visiting from Alaska, you might enjoy these tacos. But if you’re a local, they’re probably not worth it. The tortillas were soggy and had no flavor, and the guacamole was pretty bad. The chicken was actually good, though. Still, if you’re craving good tacos, you’re better off going somewhere else.
