What a gem! Stopped in Ripley for gas and was looking for a good meal. The seafood bisque was absolutely fantastic and the crab cakes were the best! Had an opportunity to meet the owners – such nice people! We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Oh… And for the woman who had the crying baby, if I was in the restaurant and your baby didn’t stop crying, I would have applauded the owner for asking you to leave – I spent $80 for a lovely and peaceful dinner – not to hear your baby crying.

I can’t wait to hear the owner’s response to my review. I ate here last summer and the food is substandard and not worth trying. I would love to see this place on Kitchen Nightmare’s and see Gordon Ramsay teach them how to run a successful restaurant. The owners may learn some tact too. Stay away! There are nicer restaurants around Fairplain and Spencer that put their customers first and serve much better food.

The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for those impromptu last minute dinners. Highly recommend the cowboy steak, crab cake and fish tacos. Jimmy, Patti and Barb go out of their way to make your dining experience amazing. Prices are more than your typical small restaurant but the quality and freshness of the food is worth the price. Seafood is delivered fresh twice a week from my understanding. An asset to WV for sure.

I happened to be visiting the area at the same time as a good friend I hadn’t seen in a long time, so we decided to get together over a nice dinner. Our experience here completely soured what should have been a great evening. I ordered a medium rare filet and it came out completely well done. I brought it to the attention of the server as soon as I cut into it, and instead of doing anything to make it right, she scoffed at me, rolled her eyes, and walked off! The rest of the food was literally inedible. The server didn’t refill our drinks or even come back to the table for over half an hour to drop the check- and chide me for not eating my dinner. We were one of three tables in the whole place, were there well before closing, and did nothing else to warrant that kind of treatment. We ended up feeding the burnt steak to my uncle’s dog and ordering pizza delivery in our hotel room. Obviously other people have had good experiences here, but the service and cooks that night were atrocious. My friend was actually upset that I tipped her anyway and didn’t throw a fit!

Excellent stop, some of the best food I’ve ever had! The food is very fresh and high quality and prices reasonable for the high quality. The seafood is as good or better tasting than what you can get next to the ocean. Will be back whenever I’m in the area. Great drink selection too. If you want to seriously treat yourself, this is the place to go.

Food was great. As it has been every time I’ve choose to eat here. This review is for the service. And managements lack of concern. I visit this area twice a year. And look forward to Eating there. That won’t be happening anymore. Tonight at least 5 tables were seated after ours and were served and paid for before we had our food. In an hour and a half I was not giving a refill. The condiments I asked for were giving to me as my food was almost gone. The tables next to us both said things. “Glad you got your food. I was going to give you some of ours ” I know this is one of the only fine dining establishment’s in this area. But this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Which is disheartening considering I talk about this place to e every person I come across that might be traveling in this direction. Won’t be doing that anymore.

Food was very good… Their policy party of 6 or more is one bill with 18% gratuity. We were 2 family’s and one of us had to pay for the entire bill. Not good business. Would be a draw back in returning

Visited Crabby Patti’s on a recommendation as I was visiting from out of town. CP’s has a great beer selection (IPAs) as well as wine. Started with Calamari as an appetizer–excellent choice. The dinner salad is fresh and a ‘real’ salad–has greens/fresh veggies–not iceberg. One entree was the (nightly special) Stuffed shrimp/rice/asparagus. Other entree was Mushroom Swiss burger/fries. Would recommend either of these entrees. I’ve eaten a lot of seafood in my travels and enjoyed fine dining. CP’s is a hidden gem tucked away in a small town. The ocean is 300 miles away–yet the seafood tastes like a fresh daily catch. Remember, you get what you pay for. Great food/atmosphere/service.

I have never eaten at Crabby Patty’s but have heard good things about the food. The restaurant decor is quaint, and outdoor patio space, and private dining/ event space is a wonderful amenity.

The crab cakes are quite good for a small WV restaurant, but not to compared to the best of the Baltimore area. The offerings are a little pricey, but maybe not for crabs in WV. However, they really got my goat when, after paying $16 for a crab cake sandwich and extra for some fries with it, they tacked on an extra 50 cents for a spoonful of tartar sauce. I hate being nickeled and dimed, especially when the entrees are not cheap to begin with.
