The platter came with 3 crab clusters, tons of shrimp, potatoes, egg, corn, & sausage! I’m not sure what kind of sausage they had, but it was really good with a parsley seasoning or something like that inside. As with most crabs we get into the state, the snow crabs were fairly small, but still tasty. The shrimp were of a good size though!
I did get it to go so I think my shrimp sat and cooked some more, but they were still good!
All in all a great addition to seafood in the BA area, if I could make any recommendations it would be to work to find a different crab supplier and to offer boudin sausage, because that would set it apart!
TLDR: Great food, nice people and good prices.
Got there around 1pm and the place was about half packed, which is always a good sign.
The place is pretty large, spacious and not as noisy as you might suspect. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table.
I went with the 3 piece catfish and 10 piece shrimp selection, with waffle fries. Got my drink, found a table and waited for my food.
The wait wasn’t terribly long and the food arrived hot and looking great.
Of the three items and 2 sauces (tartar and cocktail), I’d be hard pressed to say which one I liked most.
The tartar sauce was very well done, but the catfish was so freakin good it was almost a sin to put anything on it. Each piece was plenty big enough and three made for a substantial serving. The shrimp pieces were decently large and really, really fresh. They’re breaded as opposed to breadcrumbed, but they were great nonetheless.
The catfish was hands down some of the best I’ve had around town. Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right and abundantly sized portions.
Probably the unsung hero of the meal was without a doubt the waffle fries. These are the waffle fries Chick Fil A should aspire to be. Delicately yet robustly seasoned, they weren’t at all dry and did not need any topping whatsoever.
Overall, there was not one thing I could find that I didn’t like about the meal. For what I got, the price was on point ($24 and change).
Oh, and go see my guy Quincy!! He’s the man Tell em Henry sent you
This was our first time trying Crab and Catfish Co BA and wow jus WOW, the food was very good! Fresh hot perfectly fried fish and wing combo! The waffle fries are so good and seasoned just right!
Might as well ask for a to-go box, because the basket is packed with so much!
Something that happened was I was short a wing. It was 5 instead of 6. The server asked if everything was ok and I mentioned the missing wing and she counted them and agreed. I told her no big deal, there’s already too much food! Next thing you know here comes the cook with another full order of 6 with an apology!
The server was attentive to the point where I asked if she was the owner and sure enough, she’s the owners fiancee!
I love the food and service! It was a plus to see how they handle a mistake, they owned it and overcompensated in taking care of it!
There’s a bell at the door to ring if you like the food and we rang it hard!
Crab and Catfish Co in BA was amazing! This was my first time in, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The food was super affordable, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor.
We started with the hush puppies, which were fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside—just right, not too doughy. For our meal, we had the boil for two with a side of lobster. We chose the Original sauce in both Original and Cajun flavors, and it was incredible. I also got the spicy sauce on the side, and it came in a generous cup (not just a little condiment cup), which made dipping even better. The Cajun spice had my lips tingling in the best way!
The staff made everything even better. He checked on us often, brought our boxes, and kept us laughing the whole time. He was super funny and really made the experience memorable. I even told him I’d definitely be back. On top of that, their unsweet tea was surprisingly delicious, and the free refills were a big bonus.
Overall, between the amazing food, the fun and friendly staff, and the welcoming atmosphere, I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll absolutely be back!
