Cozumel Dreaming: The Ultimate Sushi Experience in Cozumel
Reviews
This place is a one man show, Brian works hard on his craft of making Sushi and it shows when it comes to your table.
Music is too pounding, too loud for me. We live on the island I feel that this is one of our very top restaurants on the island.
Sushi with unique appreciation its a new style, a beautiful presentation in each dish will make you feel to try all the menú.
To be totally honest I almost hesitate in posting this review because I don’t want to be fighting you for a table but the food is so good here I find myself dreaming of Cozumel when I’m hungry for sushi.
We did the all you can eat and it was sooooo worth it.
For appetizers we had coconut shrimp, shrimp tempura, crunchy scallops and beef skewers. Everything was tasty!
For rolls we had jalapeño yellowtail, the whale (pictured) and (not pictured) baked salmon and the wow. Everything was delicious.
Dessert was good as well!
What we loved aside from the flavor was not only the customer service but the serving sizes were manageable as well and allowed us to taste the menu with reasonable serving sizes.
One thing to note is it’s a cash/peso only establishment, so make sure you bring your money! Will definitely be back and will recommend.
I was hesitant to write anything because the server was so nice and very enthusiastic about the food.
We did 2 AYCE and the first presentation was the salmon nigiri. The fish itself was whitish pink as if it had been mildly cooked but was still mostly raw. I figured what’s the harm in something a little “different”. I couldn’t have been more wrong. As bad as ALL of the fish was the rice was far worse. Somehow the sushi rice was both crunchy and overcooked to the point where there were solid lumps of rice that created a miserable texture. All of the rice was too hot on every roll or nigiri and ultimately made everything harder to eat. We ordered a total of 5 nigiri and 3 rolls. I ended up paying for the last roll because I couldn’t force it down.
The reviews are overwhelmingly good so we either had an extremely off experience or there’s some kind of local review racket going on here. I’m aghast at the idea that this is the “best” sushi any has ever had even if they are from Missouri.
Eat here with caution. Skip it all together but if you do insist on trying it you should really sample something before committing to AYCE.
