I had a $16.95 special that included chowder, two sides (I chose a salad), and choice of two seafood items (I chose shrimp and oysters). Everything was exceptional, except the chowder which was not as thick and creamy as I normally expect but flavor was still good. It came with an included dessert (I chose banana pudding). I very much recommend Cox’s if you’re down in or near the area. The food is great and so are the portions and prices. Where else can you get all this food for only $16.95? Salad not pictured as I was hungry and forgot to photograph.

This is a great little place for old school country cooking. The food is reasonably priced and delicious! They have daily specials with a wide variety of side dishes such as macaroni salad, potato salad, collard greens, cabbage, pickled beets, coleslaw, macaroni, fried okra…. The list goes on!!! We loved the shrimp salad, shrimp burger, tomato bacon slaw, and orange delight! Deep fried cinnamon rolls were on special… if I wasn’t so full, I would have tried them! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff is super friendly. It is a fantastic local gem you definitely want to try!

Stopped for breakfast on a Sunday, so they were busy. Although we were served pretty quick. My other half ordered breakfast, and I opted for the beef tips with collard greens. The breakfast was better imho. I’ll try that the next time.

While visiting this area a group of us went here Sunday for lunch/breakfast. We were immediately seated. The food was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was very attentive, but not pestering as we often experience at other restaurants. I give this place a strong recommendation. Give these folks a try when you are in the area. Great Southern coastal food at a very reasonable price.

This place is so nostalgic of all the American diners across the nation. What separates Cox’s Diner is the customer service and staff is super sweet. This place gives you all the feels. It feels warm and inviting. It feels like a home cooked meal and it feels like a warm hug. So happy I had the pleasure to experience this location twice while I was visiting. Had the soft shell crab sandwich for lunch and came back another day for a traditional breakfast.

I had the breaded mushrooms & a delicious pizza burger. I’d recommend them both. Everything was hand made there. No frozen mushrooms. The mushrooms were sliced & breaded & a generous portion. They were good, but I definitely would have preferred whole mushrooms. The place was almost completely full! Yet service was quick & friendly & the food arrived quicker than expected for how busy the place was. Very reasonable prices.
