With guests from out of town, we had the superior treat of dining at Cowhorn. Though we live in Jacksonville, during out dinner, I thought maybe we were in France. The meal was beyond anything I expected. We are so starved in Southern Oregon for truly magnificent food, and Chef Evan Bolling and his staff have set a new precedent. I would be presumptive to describe in detail each of the 6 offerings but each was a jewel in and of itself…not only in taste but also in presentation. Though small, the atmosphere is intimate and lends itself to feeling as if a private chef and staff are creating dishes just for you. Evan visited our table and explained the servings. Our guests are past restaurant and catering owners. They were simply delighted with the entire evening, even taking photos of select dishes before taking the first bite. I couldn’t have been happier than to have treated them and myself to our Cowhorn “experience”. Thank Goodness there is an option for truly magical cooking.

Such a special night out. Opted for the full prix fixe and so very glad we did! Everything from start to finish was immaculate. Each dish was well-concerned, beautifully presented, and so delicious! There were so many lovely textures, colors, and flavors–works of art to say the least.

Our wine paired nicely with everything (highly recommend the Johan Melon de Bourgogne), and the service friendly with just the right amount of attention.

Atmosphere is cozy but not stuffy, which I love. Perfect date night spot. Can’t wait to go back!

Had the best night at Cowhorn! My friend and I both had the 8 course and shared a bottle wine. Best meal I’ve had in the valley, hands down. Each dish was beautiful, thoughtful, unique. The food was elevated yet playful, flavor bombs around every corner, so fun trying to taste everything the chef told us was in there. The service was intuitive and friendly, anticipating our needs without being intrusive. We were there over 3 hours and didn’t even know it!! Can’t wait to go back.

We are very familiar with interesting and well-composed meals. Jacksonville’s Cowhorn is quite a gift to the valley. The plates were varied but held together well. In fact, they were delicious, the duck especially, although my wife was won over by the fantastic play on a lobster chowder.
Chef Evan served most of the dishes himself adding insights and conversation that made us feel welcome! Our server paired wines for us, and she knew her grapes. Overall, we are so happy to have a second excellent restaurant in our local area. We will be back!

Cowhorn Kitchen should be your next dinner destination. Every dish feels high-end in presentation and taste, yet the atmosphere stays playful, creative, and completely approachable. Cowhorn takes pride in partnering with local wineries, farms, and husbandry operations to showcase the region’s local flavor and in season offerings. It’s the kind of place where serious culinary talent meets genuine warmth- without ever feeling pretentious.

I’m glad we went. The food was good and the servers were pleasant. I would definitely recommend the hand-rolled pasta with the foraged mushrooms. The menu is small but I would like to try more of the items on it. We went at 5pm on a Saturday with a reservation and it wasn’t busy but it is a very small space and when more people started to show up around 6 the proximity of the tables did become a bit awkward. I wouldn’t enjoy being there if it was a full house. I am glad we went and we’ll probably return.

Wow! All I can say is, wow! The location and setting is so boutique and unique. The food is absolutely, unbelievably, amazing!! The service is top notch. The prices are fair for the quality. I literally can’t say one negative thing about the Cowhorn Kitchen. It’s our new favorite restaurant! It makes us want to go back to Jacksonville just to enjoy their food again! It’s a must!

Meal was underwhelming based on the cost. Portions were small and although my fish was described as “light seared”, it was nearly raw in the center. My husbands steak was also drowning in sauce. Wines were good and it was a nice quaint atmosphere. Servers were friendly, but not attentive. Fine dining price without the service or quality. Had to try multiple times to get their attention just for a water refill. I think overall we interacted 3 or 4 times with the server including them telling us that we need to vacate the table for the next reservation. Won’t be returning.

I am not someone who normally writes reviews. However, Chef Evan and the staff at Cowhorn Kitchen have more than earned their flowers. Every bite was novel, exciting, perfectly balanced, and so incredibly delicious. Service was flawless. My only complaint was that the night had to end. Looking forward to going back!

I think I’m pretty well qualified to guage a restaurant. I love being introduced to new tastes and textures.

Our meal experience at the Cowhorn was extraordinary, amazing food, pretty good local wine, and great service.

We even met the couple at the next table which made for a lively conversation.

In other words, a perfect evening.
