For my first visit, I want to try their Country Fried Steak because I had heard they are famous for it. It was honestly great. The steak was very tender, and not overly fried. Too many places cook it for too long. The breading was also not too thick, so it did not take away from the meaty flavor. It was also a very large sized portion, and the gravy on top was really good, it did not taste like it came from a can.
I would say this is a great diner option and I would definitely put on my list to repeat. I would suggest to anyone in the area or to anyone passing through looking for a great classic SoCal diner.
I placed my order and just took in the ambiance. It’s not your basic diner or brunch spot. It had a character of its own.
Our to go order was pretty simple today:
1. Country fried steak and eggs with house potatoes and banana bread – Country fried steak was good. Just like you’d expect it to be. House potatoes, the lady who took my order, highly recommended, but potatoes weren’t cooked all the way. Banana bread is not something to pass up.
2. County omelette – This was amazing it was hearty and meaty. It had bacon and sausage with chees that had that pull. Hash browns were perfectly cooked, and pancakes were thick and buttery.
Overall a great experience, I highly recommend coming early.
Service was ok, but waiters hardly paid attention because they were too busy rushing around.
Overall, great quality food, even if not quite as advertised, with ok service. Would definitely eat here again though, because it was delicious!
Detailed review: nice place to eat breakfast. The orange juice is fresh with a big slice of orange. Not bad portions for the price but my favorite breakfast dish from here is the biscuits and gravy they’re not dry or overly salted biscuit was nice a flaky and fresh while the gravy was thick and creamy didn’t taste like those store bought biscuits , not like other places do and heat up with the gravy not like that at all. definitely would come back.
Dislikes: does need to be bigger if they can make a outdoor dinning where the trees are that would make it better for seating.
Which it did! The food was delicious, eggs were done perfectly to my liking, plenty of home fries, the sausage/bacon was delicious and the pancakes hit the spot!
The most impressive thing here was the quality of service, the staff were incredibly kind, fast and courteous, coffee refills were fast and plenty, from the time I ordered , the food must’ve came within 5 mins, it felt so quick .
If I am ever back in California, I’m definitely coming here again
