This seems to be the place to go if you want BBQ. Amazing food and friendly people. You have to order at a window outside, then decide if you’re eating inside or getting it to go. They have the normal menu and rotating specials. Only open limited hours a few days a week, so make sure to plan ahead.

I tried Cowboys for the first time today. I ordered the 3 meat plate consisting of brisket 1 pork rib and 1 link of sausage with beans and potato salad as sides. The plate also included 2 slices of bread with onions and pickles as well. The wife ordered the carne guisada plate which also came with the same sides and Mexican rice. The brisket was super tender but lacked a little flavor. The pork rib was delicious and fall off the bone. I enjoyed the sausage and sides as well. The wife enjoyed the carne guisada but wasn’t able to finish it so I helped her a bit lol. The carne guisada was really tender as well and the Mexican rice was great. We ordered the food to go so I really can’t comment on the atmosphere.

This is by far one of the greatest hidden gems in south texas. If you haven’t had a chance to make your way to this restaurant, you are truly missing out. The food is absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend it to anyone within an hour of this place. Well worth the trip if you’re looking for some amazing barbecue.

Small local barbecue establishment. You order your food through a small window (not drive-through) for take out. You can dine inside but you have to notify the cashier while ordering. I had the bbq turkey melt combo and it was delicious. This restaurant is perfect for a quick to-go lunch.
