I’ve been on the hunt for a spot that actually nails the “modern Western” vibe without being a total cliché, and Cowboy Chow absolutely crushed it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric—rustic textures, metallic accents, and those massive garage doors that open up to the patio make it the perfect hangout.
But let’s talk about the food, because it was a revelation:
The Brussels Sprouts: I’m officially obsessed. These are not your average soggy veggies; they were expertly charred to a smoky crisp on the outside while staying tender and buttery at the heart. They’re tossed with chile lime and a serrano aioli that adds a bright, zesty kick and just the right amount of heat.
The Chicken: I opted for the Chicken Fried Chicken, and it did not disappoint. The crust was shatteringly crispy and held its own under a rich chorizo gravy. The meat itself was incredibly succulent and seasoned to perfection with a bold, peppery blend that makes you want to skip the sauce entirely.
What really set the evening apart, though, was the hospitality. The manager, Shawn, was exceptional—he was attentive, welcoming, and made sure every detail of our meal was spot on. We were even treated to a meet-and-greet with the new chef, which added such a personal, high-end touch to the casual vibe.
Between the top-tier service and the incredible flavors, this place is a total win. I’ll definitely be back for another round of those sprouts!
Fabulous time with friends.
Jaylon, Dara, and our server Asia did a phenomenal job to make us feel welcome and special during such a busy weekend.
Downtown Dallas has its own “Times Square”
It’s a very safe, and very alive, very fun area.
Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, chicken fried steak and brews on tap.
High tech, high architecture, family oriented. Strong security presence.
But it didn’t stop there — we witnessed him yelling at other customers as well, creating an unwelcoming and hostile environment. Most disturbingly, he displayed clear racist behavior toward white customers, treating them with obvious disrespect compared to others.
I don’t know how someone like this ends up running a restaurant, but Cowboy Chow needs to seriously reconsider who they’re putting in charge. Dee needs to be fired immediately. We will never return, and I’ll be warning friends and family to stay far away.
Lots of outdoor seating and live music on Thursdays, really wants me to come back!
Food was served fast and tasted great, especially likes the seasoning on the fries
