I had three pieces of dark meat with the side of Mexican-style corn and French fries. It was delicious! I loved the flavor of the chicken with the wood-smoke taste, and the side was amazing. I may try the wood-fired special next time.

Wow this food is fantastic. My wife and I were looking for a little place to grab a quick meal, and we came into Cowboy Chicken, and this is the best decision we could have made in Baton Rouge. I would recommend this place to anybody who likes good a good hearty meals. The peach cobbler is fantastic with Ice cream on the side and the chicken wings are excellent. My wife tried the enchiladas with the street corn and spanish rice and she gives it all five stars.

First time here and pleasantly surprised with how awesome the food was. My Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was one of the best I have had in a long time if not the best ever (no cap as the kids say these days! lol). My wife got a platter meal and we snagged an extra whole chicken for only 13$ which we are taking home for the kids to devour! All in all right under 50$ and well worth it. Staff was pleasant and the establishment enjoyable as well as clean. Winner winner Chicken Dinner!!!

I come here fairly often. In this day and age it’s hard to find a place with relatively healthy options compared to other fast food type restaurants. The pricing for the food you get is great. Service is always good to great.
I’ve read some of the negative reviews, and honestly my thought is those people probably shouldn’t go out to eat anywhere. Not because they are “wrong” but they are expecting luxury or home service at a mid range quick food type of store. I love this place

One of our favorite places to eat out. It’s not “fancy” but it sure is good! Rotisserie Chicken and delicious sides.
We ordered the family meal, dark meat, green beans, Mac n cheese, and fried okra. We ordered peach cobbler for the dessert. The meat was well cooked and was moist. Sides were very good! Peach cobbler was a little under cooked but it was still good.
Picky Eater Rating: 10 out of 10 for the chicken and the Mac n cheese. The fried okra and the green beans were tasted but they were not a favorite for the picky eater in attendance! Peach Cobbler receives a 5 from the picky eater.
Everything looked clean and well organized. Service was excellent.

Chicken wings buffalo, rotisserie chicken, chicken sandwich, and chicken tenders were all prepared excellent and dipping sauce was good. Clean and good smelling place. Parking was easy and right in front. The bathroom was clean and stocked. Prices were normal for the food. Service was knowledgeable and quick. Fries not entirely good, Mac and cheese good, salad with the vinaigrette was a little extra, liked the cilantro. 07/06/2025 – update: I tried the Durango bowl. It had delicious moist rotisserie chicken, seasoned pinto beans, grilled corn, Spanish rice, cucumber, tomato, Cilantro with avocado sauce. It was wonderful. Tastes of authentic Mexican food. The family lived their dinner choices as well. Ty Cowboy Chicken staff for the great service and wonderful tasting food. We’ll be back again and I highly recommend you try this little known gem.

I ordered Cowboy Chicken via DoorDash, so I do not know about service or atmosphere.
This place has been around awhile and I have never tried it due to mixed reviews. However, today I wanted chicken that was not fried, so I decided to give it a go. I am not upset with my choice. I ordered the quarter white meat with 2 sides, and purchased 2 additional sides. The rotisserie chicken was delicious – moist and tender, especially for white meat. The mashed potatoes were good as well, however, just regular mashed potatoes. The Mexican street corn was amazing; sweet and creamy. The fried okra was seasoned well, and the cucumber and tomato salad was sweet and vinegary – how you would expect. After reading other reviews it seems a lot of the negative comments come from the service, and I would not know – but if you are going on food alone, I would suggest trying it out. It is nothing fancy, but if you want good chicken with homey sides, this is a good place to check out. (Side note, I have also tried the Nashville hot chicken from Smackbird which apparently is inside of Cowboy chicken and i really like it too. 5/5 stars.)

We ordered the brisket sandwich with fries, the Kickin Cobb salad, and a side of street corn. I must say that I was apprehensive about ordering any brisket other than slabs. The term pulled brisket seemed foreign, but I gave it a shot. The brisket was tender, seasoned well, and delicious! The fries were seasoned well, crisp on the outside yet tender on the inside. The Cobb salad had tender slices of moist chicken, ripe avacados, and bite-sized chunks of lettuce. The street corn was the only thing I did not like, only because I prefer no spiciness. I would highly recommend trying the food at this restraunt.

My wife and I decided to give this place another chance since it went downhill in food quality a while back. We came in on a Sunday recently and no one was in line. We waited for a while, with 5 employees staring at us from the kitchen and one employee sweeping the floors nearby. No one helped us even though we made eye contact with every one of them and they for sure saw us waiting. We left and went next door for food. This used to be one of my favorite dining spots, but we won’t be back which is disappointing.
