A pleasant dining experience at Couvant, located inside The Eliza Jane. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. While the service could still evolve with time, the overall experience was nice. The hostess was especially kind and welcoming, which we truly appreciated.

Not bad. Service and atmosphere was right at the given price point, the food could have been a bit better. Nothing tasted frozen, which was terrific, but the escargot was bland, steak was overcooked, red fish was dry because that too was overcooked. I would eat here again.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. Food took so long to come out and on top of that, there were literal mice running around as we were eating. My gf had to raise her feet so they wouldn’t touch her.

When I brought this to the staff, their response was “every building has mice”. Waitress was great, but it just feels like a slap in the face given that response especially since I paid a lot of money for eating there and not a single thing was done to compensate for the situation. I’m not one to fuss about a lot of thing, but this experience was just really disappointing.

Management needs to get its act together! We visited with a large group for a drag brunch during Mardi Gras, making reservations well in advance for a pre fixed menu. Staff and bar were fine but the kitchen service was off. An hour and half in and we had only received our appetizers. After 2.5 hours only half our group had received entrees. Our waiter and bartender kept apologizing but the manager was no where to be found. When the manager finally came to our table she offered a small discount, not even covering the food we didn’t get. We ended up just paying the bill to get out of there but it was one of the most poorly run events I’ve been to in a while. I think they ran out of food, which for a preset menu is inexcusable. Food was ok; you can find way better at that price point!

Ate here twice while staying at The Eliza Jane and was surprisingly delighted by the food. I ordered the short ribs for dinner one night and the mashed potatoes that came with it were unbelievable. I got The Eliza Jane breakfast one morning and was so glad I ordered the grits as my side. Those are maybe the best grits I’ve ever had. Buttery deliciousness. What luck that was stayed at the attached hotel because I’m not sure we would have discovered this place otherwise.

Always an unbelievable visit. The food is incredible, expertly crafted, and perfectly executed every time. The Croque madame is worth going out of your way for and the eggs Benedict is mouth watering. I’ve yet to have a bad meal item in my visits. The staff are great and the environment is relaxed. Great place for a meeting or brunch. The bar even has handy ports to plug your devices into.

Attached to the Eliza Jane Hotel, the overall look and vibe has a good balance of moody modern and clean aesthetic. We made a reservation, but didn’t need it on Sunday evening. We were greeted and seated quickly. Service was professional and elevated. Tables bussed after each course, attentive to water refills and drink orders. Food was delicious and fresh. There is a visible plating area that guests can sit at. My foodie son watched our desserts be plated. Server and cook were happy to answer his questions about prep and took his curiosity in stride. Recommended.
We took photos of the escargot en croute and the tartare after we tucked in! Not pictured: profiteroles and crème brûlé. Entrées are confit de canard, boeuf bourguignon, moules marinières.

ummm the service was pretty good. But the food wasnt good. Fougasse: not what i expected – I didnt like it but if you like herbs and bread, you would probably like it (i am more a plain bread person)
Escargot en Croute: the escargot was good, and it was served on a puff pastry but the puff was a bit too buttery and oily.
Carrot soup – this was good. We wanted the Truffled Butternut Squash Veloute but they didnt have it that day and only had carrot – but it was still pretty good.
Flat iron steak – it was a bit overcook. Didnt like it.
if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is the place, we were the only table there that night!
