Wow! Traveled from Louisiana to Rio Grande City, Texas for a wedding and happened upon this amazing restaurant! The smash burgers are PERFECT! Mine had a single burger with cheese and grilled onions on a brioche bun. I’ve eaten lots of smash burgers and these are the BEST! Coutinos is in the old historical downtown of Rio Grande City. Beautiful building with stone interior. The owner and his wife are super friendly and answered all our questions about the food, the building and even showed us old pictures of downtown when Main Street was just a dirt road! Wish I could take the burgers home!

Great burgers. Bacon smash is really good. The heat smash is also has a little kick to it. Onion rings and fries were also good. The old interior was cool. Fyi, if your on a diet they have water….. lol

One of the best home-style cheeseburgers I’ve tasted in a while. I would call it an “old fashion style” cheeseburger. It was exactly what I expected from an old fashion cheeseburger to taste like. You have to go check this place out.
