I eat out so often that I rarely eat somewhere new that is such an amazing surprise.
I’m not a huge lobster person, but I do love me some good crab. Problem is most of the time it’s either messy to get to or it’s imitation stuff. The family member I was with had the lobster roll and wasn’t completely impressed with the flavor, but my crab roll was so out of this world that it was in another universe.
It was tasty, buttery and so good I went back and got a second helping. I asked for extra butter and holy cow it was even better. I got the combo with a soda and tater tots, and the tots were hot and crispy and totally tasty.
The only two challenges were the fact that it’s located right next to Pier 39 so parking and access was a challenge and they have no bathrooms. You think if a quick lunch is going to cost north of a hundred bucks that they would have a potty for their customers, but all things considered it’s not the worst thing in the world…just the need to plan ahead.
I can’t wait to go back.
Editing to add my response to the owner – I’ve been to Maine, maybe I got lucky there with large lobster rolls ♀️ thank you for your response!
The restaurant is located right on pier 41 with plenty of seating. You can also grab and go to enjoy your lobster roll with a view. The restaurant doesn’t have any washrooms which is inconvenient so you have to use the public washroom at the pier.
Service was great too. The servers were nice and helpful.
I recently tried Cousins Maine Lobster for the first time and went with the San Francisco Special (Connecticut Edition) — a warm lobster roll served with lemon butter on a soft, toasted New England-style roll.
The flavors were definitely good. The lobster was fresh and tender, and the lemon butter added a nice richness without overpowering the meat. The roll was warm and lightly toasted, which gave it a great texture. However, the portion of lobster felt a little small for the price. It tasted good, just didn’t quite have that “wow” factor I was hoping for.
We also got a side of tater tots, and honestly, they were the surprise highlight — crispy, golden, and fried to perfection. They were hot, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right. If you’re on the fence about adding tots to your order, do it.
Service was friendly and the food came out relatively quickly. It’s definitely a fun spot to try, especially if you’re craving lobster in the city.
Overall, it was a solid meal and I’d try them again — maybe next time I’ll go for the Maine-style cold lobster roll to compare.
4 stars for quality, service, and those perfect tots — just wished the lobster roll packed a bit more punch for the price.
We are sea food fanatics and was looking for Lobster roll (something I hadn’t tried yet ), hence walked into the restaurant. There was a variety of items on the menu .
Service was quick .
Lobster roll was so good , we were so glad that we tried here.
Only thing The roll could have been little bigger in size
Definitely I will recommend to try this place for sea food..
