Service was excellent. Restaurant was extremely clean and taken care of. Buffet looked great and had multiple options. I got a turkey sausage and egg meal with a pancake and it was delicious. Farm fresh eggs cooked to perfection, and the pancake was mouth-watering. Will love to come again when in Galena

My husband visited on Saturday morning. Since it’s off season they were not busy at all. We had a well seasoned waitress who was excellent at her job! Our waters were frequently filled and so were our coffees.
The food was delicious and reasonable too! The setting was really nice and quiet to talk. Definitely recommend visiting!

Karson, Cam, Julia, and the history major Shelby who we’re very entertaining. we had the most amazing meal. You must go here for dinner and just to experience the history of Galena hands-down the best place and will definitely be back highly recommend it. I can’t say enough also you have to have the blue cheese soup.

We stayed at DeSoto House and got breakfast from Courtyard twice. The Apple Compote French Toast was so good! I wish I got it the second day too. The lemon blueberry crepes were good but now I’m craving the apple French toast again. It didn’t need syrup. The heavy whipped cream was a perfect compliment for it. My husband loved it too!
We also ate at the Generals Restaurant and the pasta dishes were very good. Their bread/herb butter was amazing. Sarah, the server, was phenomenal. Very friendly and personable.

Be sure to book your stay during their Sunday Breakfast buffet! My favorite will always be their hashbrown casserole and a nice slab of medium rare brisket pair that with an orange mimosa and that’s heaven right there

Got the walleye. It’s Canadian eh. Started with French onion. Didn’t see the lady in black but I kept glancing thru the door hoping to catch her out. Historic hotel. Stephen Douglas, Abraham Lincoln and US Grant have all stayed there.

We had breakfast at the Courtyard and our waitress was terrible. She was going to substitute hash browns for fruit. Low and behold I had hash browns on my plate no fruit. Then we asked for more syrup, she said she would get it. She never came back. I had to go up to the hostess station and ask for more. Needless to say she received a five dollar tip on a $51 dollar breakfast. My husband saw her shaking her head when she saw the tip. We don’t think the food was worth $51 dollars.

We were staying in the Desoto and took the excellent dinning options in the Hotel to our advantage. From breakfast, to lunch, to supper. The food and service were fantastic. If we attend the Romantic Galena Reads event in 2025, I know we will have at least one meal here.
