Great cafe! Small place with indoor and outdoor seating. Has a quaint atmosphere with a calming aura. The crepes were amazing! Got the Le Smores and the Sunrise, one savory and one sweet and both were great! Service was great, they were all super friendly and attentive. Prices were just right for the items we got. Great coffee spot!

Came to Hammond for a business meeting and wanted a peaceful spot to grab coffee and a bite to eat. The atmosphere, perfectly crafted coffee, and delicious bagel exceeded my expectations stations. To add a cherry on top, the owner’s hospitality went above and beyond! I couldn’t recommend this spot more.

Delicious coffee. Great courtyard with lots of plants. Downside is one bathroom for the entire establishment. **Edit September 2023** interior/exterior redesigned and redecorated. There is a baby changing station inside the bathroom now. Today I ordered black tea with almond milk and simple syrup. The tea bag had a great value label- just fyi. Great spot to study, work on a laptop. I brought sketchbooks and drawing materials on this visit. My girlfriend and I drank our bevies, talked, and created/colored/drew for a couple hours in peace and comfort. I love the new seating arrangement. Much more comfortable than the previous hard wooden bench without cushions. I didn’t visit the courtyard this time to witness any changes out back.

Very cute little place. I went there twice and ordered the same thing both times, the perfect pair. The first time, it didn’t have any Nutella on the inside, but it has a cute gingerbread man on the top. The second time was definitely an upgrade with more chocolate, but the gingerbread man design will always hold a place in my heart. ❤️

I’m a huge coffeeshop fan, having travelled all of the country and world in search of a great experience. I also used to be a manager at both PJ’s on Tchoupitoulas, as well as a manager with Starbucks for 12 years in New Orleans and Austin.
Courtyard Café is very impressive! The crepe I had was a savoury mushroom variety, and it was pretty excellent!
The only suggestion I have is to utilise the ceiling fans, especially in the summer. It can get awfully stuffy otherwise.
Good service, good product, and excellently located.

They really need to do something about the water that they use to make coffee. I have been in there numerous times and I just can’t get a good coffee because I think the water needs to be filtered or something. I’m not sure why I kept going back… I guess because the atmosphere is cute. The food is very overpriced for what you get. I keep going back because it is a great location and a calm environment. However, one too many times the kids behind the counter messed up my order. Never once have they ever apologized or did anything to acknowledge the mistake. If they just had more professional people working there, the cafe would be a gem. Unfortunately I won’t be going back anymore until they get a manager or someone who can get that place into shape

Came here for the first time yesterday and wasn’t impressed.
Both of our coffees were wrong. My husbands mocha didn’t have any coffee in it, and my americano was not what I ordered at all.
Girls that helped us seemed new and confused when we ordered, lots of attitude.
The stars are for location and how cute the inside is. Their menu is huge and there are lots of options for food and drink…just not a fan of what we ordered or the people working there.

Atmosphere: this place gets a 5/5 for overall decor, ambiance, and greenery. The interior of the cafe is cozy yet sleek. The walkway to the restroom (and the restroom itself) is straight pinterest goals with cushioned nooks backed with large windows peering into the courtyard. The courtyard is lush and beautiful with crawling vines, full ferns, a rustic fountain, and 3 to 4 small tables for seating. Oh and the bathroom has amazing wall art of the “iron throne” behind the toilet for all you GOT fans.
Food: 2/5 While the food and coffee weren’t bad per say, they weren’t anything to write home about. If I am being perfectly honest, the crepes were a bit on the thick side for, well, crepes. As a place which boasts about their latte art on IG- I was surely disappointed. I ordered a latte with glitter. I was at least expecting glitter. Out came my latte- no art, not even a straight enough pour for a well placed white dot, and not one touch of glitter. Once I pointed out my glitter latte had no glitter per ordered, the nice server took it back. However, she just sprinkled some glitter on top. No art for me.
Service: 2/5 I had to help the cashier correctly give me change back, not once, but twice. I handed the cashier a $50 bill and exact change for my order, she gave me back change for a $20. I brought this to her attention. She denied that I gave her $50. I had her check the register. Low and behold it was there. She gave me incorrect change again. Finally I pulled out my phone and worked the math problem for her. I understand mistakes happen, but a simple sorry goes a long way. For the other service ding, refer above to the latte.
Overall, if you want a place to relax, read a book, do some research, and drink a basic coffee whilst in a beautiful environment: this could be the place for you. If you actually want superb service and crepes with the texture of crepes: this place may not be for you.
