Wanted to try this cute cafe for a long time. Went there for lunch on Thursday and was disappointed. She brought our drinks right away, I got water and husband had coke The waitress was too busy looking at something else to explain the menu to us. The daily specials are not on the menu but she rattled off what it included. I tried to remember the sides but she did tell us it was meatloaf and came with a drink, two sides and desert for $14. Hubby had chicken fried steak. When she brought the ticket, we made sure to see if we had been charged for the coke. Ticket listed the steak at $16, my special at $14 and $3 tax, so I gave her my card. She returned with receipt and told me it’s $37.15. I told her it must be a mistake as our ticket said $33. She said she added the coke, I told her I didn’t have a drink so we should not be charged for the coke. Her reply was snarky as she said well you had a water and HE had a coke, do you want something else?
Really!! Coke wasn’t even on my ticket!
The food was okay, prices were average, although I did expect a little better for a midweek lunch.
Customer service could be better, we won’t return.
The food is cooked freshly and is super delicious.
The work staff are extremely polite, friendly and quick to please your needs & wants. This is the perfect spot in town for families or even a special date!
They had a breakfast buffet going through lunch which looked amazing. I was craving a chicken fried chicken.
The portion was hearty and I couldn’t finish it. The batter was a real nice crisp, chicken was the size of small frisbee. Obviously one side had to be mashed potatoes and gravy and the other was fried okra. Also got the Texas toast and it was so nice and buttery.
The appetizer was the largest bowl of fried pickles ever served with a big cup of ranch. It was awesome.
We also had a patty melt and club and those were both very tasty as well.
If you are in Livingston one more seriously stop in here. Super friendly down home staff that was extremely welcoming.
Whipped “butter” on the table was margarine. Sadly, coffee was watery and weak.
Overall, nice place and would recommend.
