Stopped by this fine establishment for dinner after a lot of running around. Had a double cheeseburger with steak fries. Both the burger and fries were DEE-licious! Portions were enough to make this fat boy happy! The hamburgers were seasoned perfectly adding to the overall flavor of the sandwich. The wait was moderate but expected for a country diner with freshly cooked food! Next time we come thorough Galax I’ll have to stop by and try the pork chops!

Ordered thru the restaurant for delivery. Ordered the chuckwagon , green beans , mashed potatoes and strawberry shortcake. When it arrived it was lukewarm. Chuckwagon didn’t even have a bun or anything. Just the chuckwagon itself which was soaked with so much grease it was not eatable. Green beans were good . The mashed potatoes were mediocre. Strawberry shortcake was ok. The cake part of it was dry. But, the strawberries were very good. Wasn’t really thrilled with the food. So want be ordering from there again.

This place was just bad. Service was mediocre at best. The waitress looked at the plate I had pushed aside and turned and went the other way. I ordered coffee that was in a beat up cut that I would not drink out of at home, then when the food arrived it was bad I got tenderloin and 2 eggs over easy and a biscuit with sausage gravy. The gravy and biscuit was very good but that’s it the eggs were cold and tasted funny the tender loin was nasty . My wife got a breakfast burrito and hash browns they were also cold and not very good. We left most of the food on our plates. The upside was it was fairly cheap. When we went to check out the girl asked how it was I told her and she didn’t say a word lol not I’m sorry or I hate that nothing she just gave the total and took the money. It was bad I would not like to try it again lol.

Ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings. Burger was over cooked and dry. Onion rings were very good. Staff was very attentive and always check to see if we needed something. It might have been a off day with the food. I’d try again.

I had a horrible experience and will definitely not be back, called a order in at 11:00 and asked for it to be ready at 12:00. I arrived at 11:50 expecting my order to be ready on time since I called it in a hour early, food wasn’t ready and was not ready until12:20. I saw the manager in the parking lot and had asked her about my order and automatically she got smart saying how busy they were. I totally understand that restaurants get busy at times and this is why I called the order in early. The girl I sent in to get the food motioned for me at 12:20 that our food was ready and when I went in the manager was speaking to a customer about how everyone was so hateful,well guess what its because of service like this! I have had trouble in the past with waiting on food orders once even 45 minutes, but i like to support locals and come to support them.The manger should have scheduled more help on the day before Thanksgiving that should be a no brainer. I have managed restaurants too in the past and have even worked with Christine. If you are so busy why was the help outside talking on the telephone? Im not the type to leave bad reviews but today totally was uncalled for!

Real nice cafe in Galax. Service was super fast with your typical diner / cafe vibe. Coffee, tea, pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and bacon. Our food came out very fast and was delicious. Everyone was very friendly too.

What a gem!!! It is no-frills comfort food at its best. I work in the area once per month. I was not feeling the typical fast food chains so I just drove around. This was the only place with a full parking lot so I pulled in. It has gray painted cinderblock walls and a few decorations here and there. The inside could use a little TLC, but The staff is really friendly and they seem to works their “backs” off. I had the chicken filet biscuit with Home fries and coffee. The biscuit was what I was hoping for in the south and the potatoes – the potatoes! – were awesome. I am a potato junkie (my husband calls me spud) and these were perfection.
The prices were reasonable- I had the full meal plus tip for about what I would have paid at McDonald’s and it was much better!
I will definitely be back.
