Such a great local place! Not a typical dinner I would say. The quality of food is great and they have different specials every day of the week. Also most of the guests were local, which gives some trust right away. Will definitely stop by again when will be in the area. Chicken livers were my favorite .

I absolutely love to stop at mom and pop places. Cooking like I used to have as a kid. Very nice and sweet server. Walking into this place was liking stepping back in time. Gunsmoke on the television and old time decorations. I enjoyed my meal, as did my wife and son. A must stop, just to step out of time and relax, and eat some mighty good fixins.

Sincere and friendly staff. Fried chicken was not as crispy as I’d like. Grilled chicken sandwich was good. Spiral-cut, deep-fried potato was tasty. Don’t expect “health food,” but you’ll find good “comfort food.” Seems popular with locals, as several phone orders came in while we were there.

We traveled from North Carolina on the way to Missouri for the total eclipse 2024. To start, the coffee was fresh and amazing! I ordered the fried bologna, eggs, biscuit and gravy, and homefries. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious! The price for my meal was awesome at $7. I wish we had quality and prices back in my hometown! If we are ever back we will definitely stop in for breakfast again! Everyone was so friendly as well! You all have a little gold mine in this town! Way to go!

Not fancy but delicious, home cooked food. Very reasonable. Best catfish we’ve EVER had and they even offered Frog legs! We’ll try them next time. Very friendly family owned place.

Country Type is located in a very small Kentucky town and is the town’s diner. Everybody knows the other diners. Reminds me of a small diner that my grandparents used to take me to in the 50’s. Service is down home and wonderful. Burgers, Meatloaf, Salisbury Steak, pie, you get the idea. Prices are very reasonable. Last time we had the meatloaf, great… and the hamburgers looked fantastic. I had Salisbury Steak this time and I wouldn’t say it was fantastic, but it could be just my taste. Next time I’ll get a burger and enjoy the small town diner experience.

This is a great little diner. The staff was inviting and helpful with the menu. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The ribbon cut potatoes were amazing and more than enough for 2 people. This place is a gem.

This is a diner we stopped on our road trip after doing a hike in thr Mammoth caves. We went in without knowing what to expect and left full and happy. Food is amazing and everyone was sweet. Family friendly and a cozy little spot for a great meal.

Tots were a little toasty but the 5 year old didn’t complain. It was a nice quiet atmosphere at the time I went in.
