First time eating here, we had breakfast on a Saturday morning, parking was limited, they had only 2 empty tables, we were served quickly enough since they were busy. Ashley was our waitress and she did an excellent job, food was good except for their fried potatoes, potatoes was more then crispy, more burnt, around $60. for 3 people, we diffently will try again

The food was AMAZING and I mean that while heartedly. When I looked online I thought that stuff was way over priced! I was so wrong! You WILL get you moneys worth!! The drinks are so good I got their tea and it was not to sweet or not sweet at all it was just right! Coffee was amazing also. The portion sizes are GINORMAS for food and drinks! This place was certainly a place I will be coming back to! Totally recommended for you! The place was very well taken care of and decorated! They play olden country music an waitresses are absolute sweethearts!

Another outing with the grandkids and another great meal. I’m usually a sure bet for their roast beef but the special was meatloaf and I had to give it a try. I’m really picky when it comes to meatloaf and theirs did not disappoint, a generous portion of well seasoned meatloaf with the best tasting glaze a side of homemade mashed potatoes and a tasty brown gravy. They even had a suction plate for my 16 month old grandson to eat his Mac n cheese from.

Tried it out on the way home from an outing at Heartland Farms. Nice little restaurant in a new strip mall. The waitress was friendly and welcoming and the food was great. I’m always on the hunt for a really good roast beef and their open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes was the best I have ever had. Tender lean roast beef in the best gravy and homemade mashed potatoes. My son-in-law got the Reuben and he said it was really good as was his cucumber salad. The fried bologna sandwich my daughter had was excellent as well. It’s a bit of a drive from our house but we will definitely be back.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch! I had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with a side of au jus and cucumber salad. My friend had the French Dip with au jus and mac-n-cheese. It was all very good and served nice and hot with a friendly smile by our server Carlee. Unfortunately we didn’t save room for dessert, because it all looked amazing!

Drove to Sullivan early this morning hoping to get a load of sand at Havin’s. They were closed. On the way back home I started to get hungry. My first thought was to go onto Shelly’s in Cuba followed by its Monday so Shelly’s is closed. By then, driving on Route 66 I was almost to Bourbon. So I decided to stop at the 66 Country Skillet Cafe. Looking around the dining room and reading their our story paper, it was obvious that this place was locally owned.

Still not sure what type or size of eggs they use. Look at the picture that is just two eggs! Large slice of ham and a huge portion of home fries. And the side of gravy eaten with the biscuit would rank as the third best restaurant gravy I’ve had.

Well worth the price as supporting local family owned businesses changes the world one meal at a time.

Nice, friendly small-town feel. My husband got the open faced roast beef sandwich and said it was delicious, just like in his little hometown. I got a taco salad and they accommodated me by making it chicken instead of beef. It was amazing! We also had their very berry pie with a scoop of ice cream and it was also wonderful! Great crust.

We were looking for a good country fried steak and found a gem in Bourbon, MO. Breakfast was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere was the perfect home town experience.
The country fried steak came with eggs, biscuits (which were nice and fluffy), home fries. The Belgium waffle was cooked perfectly and came with eggs and tasty sausage.
Can’t say enough about our Sunday morning breakfast at a family business in Bourbon.

I waited for 3 visits to give this review. The first time was extremely busy, we waited outdoors for about 15 minutes. The dining room was packed. The food took a bit of time but was very good and worth the wait. To some, that might sound bad but keep in mind this is a small scale country restaurant. Anytime you go to Cracker Barrel during normal meal times you’ll easily wait much longer.
The second visit a Sunday morning. Very busy. We were sat fairly quickly and the server Ava was amazing. She didn’t miss a beat and the food and portions were great.
The third time Saturday we went for dinner. On Friday and Saturday they’re open till 7. It wasn’t busy until we were there for about 15 minutes then it was packed. Our server again was Ava. She is made for customer service. The restaurant went from 2 tables to all but one filled with 2 servers and she still made certain we were taken care of. The country fried pork tenderloin plate was delicious and the size was enough to feed 2 people. We ordered 2 and brought half home.
I can honestly say the only time we were not sat in the order we came in was the first time and that’s because they were cleaning a 2 top for us and they took a large group to the larger table first. I don’t expect to sit at the large table because I was first. Who knows they could’ve called ahead to have that set up as well.
If you want a truly down home feel and homemade food please go. Let’s keep them open. I think I found my people in this place and I guess now I’m a regular local.

Great food, great amount of food the cost. Service was excellent. We went at 10am on a Tuesday. We didnt have to to wait to be sat or anything. Food came quick, and was hot and fresh. Everyone’s order was right. My family all lives about 2 hours from each other so we meet 1/2 way and this was a great stop. We plan on coming back but to try lunch next time. There was plenty of parking at that time of day too.

Ate breakfast here on 1-20-26. We were taking a day trip and found it on Google. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Right off of I44. But you have to turn into Dollar general and go through their parking lot to get to it. We missed it the first time and had to make a block and come back. It was definitely worth it! Get there early they fill up quick. We were second customers right at opening 7am. When we left they were pretty full.
