Well, the first time I was here with my wife it was super amazing food was really good and everything was good. I just took my family here for dinner and I will have to say it has turned my 5 star rating into a 1 star.. The food was absolutely disgusting. Everyone’s food was overcooked and super dry, also flavorless the onions on one of the burgers tasted like they were months old.. I will have to say this experience has turned me off on this place. I will never come back or recommend people to come here..

Good hometown cooking. Surprisingly high quality for small town diner expectations. Portion sizes are large and affordable. Most dinners less than $10 but I would gladly pay $13 to $15 for the quality and portion sizes.
Appetizers examples: Their $15 sampler had almost two full meals of stuff, a good choice for 4 people (or 2 to share as a meal, it’s that big). The pulled pork frenchfrys were big enough to have as a meal and amazing.
Main meal: Hamburgers were reasonable at price but not as amazing as the other choices. Steak sandwiches were good for their price.
And finally their water didn’t have any aftertaste, your favorite drink will taste like it should. Coffee is serviceable.
5 stars overall based on price and quality compared to expectations. It’s a small town diner with big portions and satisfies your soul food cravings (when they have the liver and onion special is my favorite time to go).

Off the beaten path on our way home from Schaumburg, but we didn’t want a chain restaurant. Glad we stopped! Excellent food and our waitress was very nice and helpful with advice for our dinner selection. I had the flat iron steak. It was cooked perfectly & was delicious! Definitely would return if in the area again!

I had the flat iron steak special. Hands down the best steak I have ever had. I’ve been to the best steak houses in the city of Chicago. This place blows then out of the water with the quality and taste of their steaks. I will never pay the premium for those great steak houses in the city after having this amazing special. Thank you for serving me the best steak I’ve ever tasted. All there other menu options are fantastic. Please don’t over look this great family restaurant if you like great fresh food for a great price.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have received excellent service. The waitress is friendly and attentive. Their burgers are great and I love the onion rings. I get the country burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce on it. Love it! It is worth the visit.

If you want packaged or processed food…don’t go here. Everything is top notch, homemade, no skimping on quality. There appetizers are homemade as well as the soup of the day. Have had everything from a burger to steak. Never been disappointed. Friendly staff. You won’t go wrong eating here. Love…love…love the food !!!!

I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without leaving a review. This place is amazing! I’ve going here for at least 2 years and have never received anything less than perfect service. Jacquelyn (Sorry if I spelled your name wrong) is but far the best server with the most positive attitude, from take out to sit down she will ensure you enjoy your food with a smile. The food is excellent quality and always made to prefection. Absolutely a must place to eat! Thank you Country House and thank you Jacquelyn!

We were “out and about” one evening, and decided we wanted to stop for food rather than waiting till we would be back home in an hour or so. My wife went to Google (of course) an found this place. You would miss it if you did not know it was there. That would be a shame. Food was very good and the service was great. Prices were good as well. We will go back if in the area.
