We had heard mixed reviews and decided we needed to give this place a shot to form our own opinion. We got the double cheeseburger, fries, and drinks. The burgers were delicious- a little crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside….and they were huge! Neither my husband nor I could finish our meal – leftovers were great that evening!! Will definitely go back!!

We went to Country House for breakfast and it was delicious. My livermush was thin and crispy and they made sure to mayonnaise both sides of the bun. I ordered a glass of milk and received an Adult size cup, which was great as an adult who still drinks milk. they are only open for carry out, which was alright, and the service was friendly and fast enough for two people on vacation with nowhere to go anyway. They are closing a little earlier, maybe around 8, as they were already closed when we tried to stop for dinner the night before.

Usually always a good place for country cooking or to grab a burger & fries. Like anywhere once in awhile the food isn’t perfect but can’t really complain after being a repeat customer for 15+ years. Definitely recommend . Take out only.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times over the years, and I do enjoy it. It’s just a smidge run-down, though that’s not their fault. Ignoring the wear, it’s actually really cute. The food was edible, though some of it was frozen and when I ordered a steak I’m convinced they must have run out of meat and given me boot leather instead. The people are incredibly sweet, but service took so long in an empty place that I wondered if the servers were also having to cook the food. Since Covid, the dining area has been closed, though, and perhaps that’s led to the improvement in food. The prices are affordable, but not shockingly so.
Tl;dr: My impression was that it’s a struggling local diner that needs more business than it’s getting, but they’re trying hard. Don’t order ribeye.

Picked up breakfast from Country House this morning. We are in town visiting and wanted something tasty. Ordered a nice spread… pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. It was delicious! Classic, home-cooked meal. Tastes like it came from granny’s kitchen. Prepared quickly and with care. It was also inexpensive, which helps a lot when you’re a family of five. Looking forward to trying some lunch/dinner options because I’m sure it will be just as good. If you’re in Lansing or just passing through, be sure to stop by the Country House!

when I arrived to pickup order in time limit I was told. They had literally just gave my order to wrong person. So I had to wait 35 minutes for them to remake it. Didn’t offer discount and wasn’t apologetic for mistake and me having to wait. Then when I got home didn’t even get everything I ordered. Was missing 3 things.
