Ok. Whenever I’m near Jamesport I can’t help myself but stop by Country Cupboard! I’m a self appointed coni suer of Ruben Sandwiches and hands down, Country Cupboard is best in the world! Don’t believe me? Try it. Even if you don’t think you’ll like Rueben Sandwich.
It’s not a posh establishment but it is what it means to be! Just good food and a lot of it!

Ok. So I travel for work. A lot. So I have eaten at a lot of small restaurants in a lot of small towns. A lot. Point being, I’m qualified to say something here. I have a lot to compare too. With all that said, this place is worth the stop. It’s very unique. It’s like one of those places on TV shows (like the Hallmark channel) that they make the restaurant look like a very quaint place where everyone knows everyone. That’s this place. As far as food and drink, the tea was fresh. It’s not uncommon to serve tea that has sat around a while; and you can tell it. Not here. The chicken fry was large and very good with plenty of gravy and mashed potatoes. On to the pie. That coconut cream pie was definitely homemade. There’s no doubt. They also brought me out a small, homemade loaf of bread that was warm! Serious. It’s open till 8p. This is how you gain weight. You can do it here. You can’t gain weight without lots of really good food; a lot. No doubt my supper was good. You all should come; a lot.

Great place to eat old fashion food made from Scratch when in old town. Chicken fried stake is great. Meals come with fresh homemade loaf of bread. Lots of Antique stores. To walk of to much food.

Food was good but they were busy and we had to wait over 30 minutes to get our meal including our salads and appetizer. We have to request for the appetizer to come out sooner. I would think that bringing the easy side items first would help with the wait. I’m surprised we got our drinks right away.

We got there just before 11am, so we weren’t able to get what we went there for.. biscuits and gravy. I wish they served breakfast all day.

The cook was outside smoking a cigarette when I arrived. I didn’t think anything of it until I got my plate of food and could smell smoke. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was what looked to be a beard hair (or a pube!) in my potatoes. The waitress was really nice but busy so I didn’t complain about the smell or the hair. I just asked for a box and was going to give it to my dog, but honestly I just threw that gross crap in the trash when I got home.

I ordered a cinnamon roll. It came out as big as the plate & was scrumptious! Folks were kinda friendly. We were on vacation so its not like they see our faces everyday. All in all a good experience.

Sandwiches was really tasty botton bread was soggy from Ham juice.. Very good servers and price was normal for a place like this.. Now I didn’t eat it but the pies and cakes looked huge and delicious

It’s your typical old school country restaurant with pork tenderloins and chicken. French Fry portions are a bit large, as if that’s a bad thing, you just need to be slower. Very old timey feel inside too. If you are passing by on I-35 this is a good stop to make!
