The food was pretty good. The gravy was a bit tasteless though. Our table was kind of dirty, the hot sauce was caked with dry old hot sauce that hadn’t ever been wiped off, and I had a gnat fly directly into my food. I was hoping for more honestly when we decided to try the place out for the first time. It was just my wife and I, we each got one meal she had water and I had a coffee and it came out to $32. I don’t feel the experience or the food was worth it to be honest. In my opinion it’s a typical subpar hole in the wall diner where you don’t expect much and that’s half the appeal.

This restaurant was below optimal, and the food was tasteless , but the service was okay. The booth, the walls, menus and condiments were all dirty. I ordered an omelette and nothing about it had any taste.. it was disappointing. The menu had white out over the prices with written in numbers, which was kind of suggestive of the experience we were having . Just seems like a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, which is sometimes a hidden gem.. but not in this case. Restaurant could use some deep cleaning, real food (less processed) and repair to justify their pricing . We won’t be back. I do not recommend The Country Boy restaurant in Hazel Park, Mi.

This place was recommended by a friend of ours and this little hidden gem is not to be missed, great food and great folks that work here that are totally awesome and friendly and that gets a big A+ in our book, I would definitely return
again next time we’re in town.
If you want good home cooking and a feeling like you are a guest a friend’s house, this is definitely the place you need to come to, warm and inviting, can’t ask for more than that

This diner is a great place for a quick meal. For a small diner their food came out hot, fresh and delicious.
The staff are friendly, kind and welcoming. They are fun to interact with and cater to your every needs.
The diner is clean and well lit, the music is nice and low (not to intrusive to your conversation)
The food is well priced and the menu is filled with delicious options
Overall an excellent diner to bring the kids, wife or friends.

They just reopened not too long ago, the place is slowly improving and updating. We usually get breakfast but today we got a late lunch/dinner.
The only downfall we kinda experienced was we ordered before the people behind us, and they were served food first. That was a little irritating but we brushed it off. Shortly after my boyfriend’s food came but mine did not because the cook “missed it” on the ticket. The table behind me one of them had the same order I got. In my opinion, that was supposed to be mine with our order.. I had to wait while my boyfriend’s food sat and he nibbled to wait to eat with me. I could understand a huge order and missing something, but two items? And we were the only customers in there besides the table behind us, a total of 4. Idk just a little upsetting.
The owner is very nice, so was the waitress otherwise.
We can’t wait to come back and give it another shot as the restaurant grows. ❤️❤️

This place leans hard into the country diner vibe, but unfortunately the food didn’t match the setting. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich and was pretty disappointed. Instead of tender, roasted turkey, the meat was thinly sliced and processed tasting, more like deli meat you’d expect on a cafeteria tray than a homestyle plate.
The sandwich itself was passable at best, but it lacked the comfort and heartiness you’d hope for from a country style restaurant. Overall, the meal felt underwhelming and forgettable, and it’s not somewhere I’d go back to if I was looking for a satisfying, made from scratch kind of meal.

I stopped here on my way home to order me something to eat I didn’t know what I wanted to eat. But once I got in there it was easy for me to make a decision. The lady Miss Shelly I believe she’s the owner and her waitress was amazing I switched my order a couple of times yet the cook did not get mad. They took care of me and I had enough to go home with. The food was good, however the turkey sandwich is Deli meat.. not real turkey that was the only thing you want for me if they get real turkey they would not be able to get rid of me..EAT HERE!

Stopped in on my way home from work for a bowl of coney chili. The chili was so watered down and barely had any flavor. It was like eating chily soup. It cost $7.41 for bowl of watery chili. Otherwise, the server was pleasant and efficient. Will not be going back.

Food always good. Very friendly staff! Whenever I’m at the Laundromat next door (once a week ), this place will be my lunch or dinner.
